Hi there,

I want to know if its possible to show more animation than 1.
Maybe like up to 10 parallel animations?

I am asking because I want to make a 4 Player Game and everybody should be able to attack.
But I only see 1 animation at a time at one target  :(

To make sure, I made an Press Key Event which should play animation A wait 10 frames and play animation B.

The Event only shows animation A.

What can I do to fix this?

Could you elaborate, or maybe provide a screenshot of the event that you're using to display the animations? I have no trouble running multiple animations at once with the following Common Event (change the references to apply to whatever targets):

He's asking if there's a way to play more than one animation on the same event/battler

No, there's not, since a battler or event only has ONE animation_id.

You COULD get a script mod done to change it to an array of animation_ids and then allow them all to be played at the same time. If you want to do that, say so, and we'll move this over to Script Requests.

well, if the animations are played on the same target, I think it really wouldn't work... the animations are shown on the sprite of that specific character (event, enemy or whatever), and since the Sprite class only allows 1 animation at a time for each sprite, you cannot do it normally...

to do it, you would need to make a new sprite that attaches itself to the sprite of the target and show the animation on that sprite... that is for EACH animation you want to show... or as Shaz said above, a script mod to turn it into an array of animations and make the sprite class use all of those

But honestly ... you should probably focus on being able to GET 4 people playing at the same time, before you worry about the animations. I suspect you'll lose interest long before you get to that point - many have suggested a multiplayer game, and many have requested it, and the best that's been done (as far as I know) is a 2-person co-operative game where you have to play on the same computer, sharing a keyboard.

That in itself will require the scripts to be turned inside-out. Don't worry about something minor like multiple animations showing, until you actually have the 4-person up and running and GET them to all be able to attack at the same time.

I would have wanted to ask him about that actually... but I thought he might have already done something about it... :)

I'm guessing not, since this is his first post here. I assumed if he knew enough to get 4 people playing simultaneously without having to ask for help here, then he also wouldn't have to ask for help with the animation, because he would already have made a LOT of other changes to scripts (ie - he'd be a scripting professional the likes that the rest of us mortal scripters would bow down to :D )

Ive already running 4 People playing at the same time (on the map, no extra battle scene) hitting enemys, all with their own weapons.

But if they all hit the same enemy, only 1 animation is shown.
I guess i have to run with like 3 frames animations to make it more exiting...^^

then you should be able to fix this up by yourself using the guidelines posted above...

What scripts do you use for the multiplayer?
If you wrote those scripts by yourself you should be able to fix the problem.

If you copied the scripts from somewhere, we need to see the scripts as the solution depends on how those scripts create the multiplayer - they need some heavy modification to enable multiplayer, and that will have to include changes in the display (or there wouldn't be four players at the same time), and that means you need a specific animation method linked to those scripts - no general answer will be able to help you.

Edit:

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
