Terranigma has been mentioned quite a few times, but it's worth it. If it had twice the love it had now, it still wouldn't have half the love it deserves.

Breath of Fire II is only good if you play with the fan translation that you know, makes it actually in English instead of some hodgepodge of English sounding childspeak. (Even then I wouldn't consider it as good as III)

Chrono Cross would probably be more respected if it wasn't labeled as a sequel to arguably the best RPG of the fourth generation of video games (my personal favorite wavers between Chrono Trigger and Phantasy Star IV for fourth generation RPGs). I don't really know if its a bad game, but as a Chrono Trigger successor, it sucks.

Wild ARMs though is awesome, and the opening theme is really great and flavorful.

Also: Suikoden II is better than Suikoden I. The first game wasn't nearly as well done, even the art was awful in 1. (I actually prefer the story of III, and the gameplay of V, but Suikoden II is probably the one that has the best balance)

I started the Suikoden series with III . Was the first real RPG game I played where you followed multiple characters seperate stories. However, the tactic battles became hard since a lot of the characters I never used or really leveled up properly.

Played it before Chrono Trigger, so I wasn't that biased in this regard. But even objectively, Chrono Cross has serious flaws. First, its plot is full of holes, even with knowledge of Chrono Trigger and Radical Dreamers. Secondly, since the devs wanted to shove as many characters as possible, they aren't very developed either. But the gameplay is quite fun so it kinda saved it for me. And the music is indeed gorgeous even when it's accompanied by a nice TurnBlack/WeakMinded/HolyDrgSwd combo...

Yeah thats true, most of the characters weren't that developed but then again the same could be said about the 108 characters in Suikoden only some of them were developed really well. Also Project Kid is so complicated, i tried hard to understand the meaning but i just got lost.

Don't know if anybody posted this cuz I didn't read all of the posts but Blue Dragon is an amazing RPG, me and one of my friends played the hell out of that game, love everything about it, the art is amazing (made by DBZ/DQ artist Akira Toriyama) and has such an amazing and fun turn based battle system, awesome skill/ class system.

Resonance of Fate. So fun, but nobody really talks about it. Must be because it's from Sega v_v

The battle system is really cool, and the characters are funny. I liked it a lot.

And one of the best boss themes of all time XD Seriously, "Eternity" is frigging EPIC. Ian Gillan and Nobuou Uematsu should join forces more often.

I tried the XBLA demo of Bastion the other day.... and it's hella fun. If you like 2d ARPG's, there's no reason not to at least try this game. I plan on buying it soon.

Yeah, When my friend and I first heard the boss battle music we were like "This is like Japanese Dio" haha even though he speaks english and isn't even japanese... probably just associated it with the game being a JRPG.

Having beaten the first three Breath Of Fire games, I can confirm that III is the best. It just feels the most complete. Plus Master System + Dragon Gene System = pure win.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
