Hello!

So I am wondering if there is a way to move player to a map ID and place the player on a Region ID in that map?
This would be quite insanely useful if say I want to shift the entire map for whatever reason. So instead of having to go
into each separate event and change the place you want the character to be set to or an event to be set to. It's all just tied
to a region where they go to.

And I am very okay with using a plugin.

Any tips or tricks to get around this map shift issue would be greatly appreciated!

Best regards,
Bishiba

I don't think this would be possible without a plugin. What you can do though is to designate the transfer player location with variables, choosing X and Y. So you won't maybe need a region ID, but instead variable coordinate. And since Set event location command can also be set with variables, maybe it answers your question.

And completely by the way, I am not going to answer the poll, since it's got nothing to do with your problem. Not to mention, the time it took to make is completely irrelevant to the consumer and gameplay length is only one of the elements of the game, so there is no clear answer.

If I shift the map, the X,Y locations stay the same I believe, I think the original ctrl+1 uses x,y already. Or am I missing something? :/

And if there is a plugin, that would be amazing :)

And yes, very true...

Best regards

Yes, they stay the same, but you can have some event that sets the variables depending on which map you would be.

If I am understanding you right, it would kind of be the same process as going into the "set player location" and changing the location only
that I would now change the event that sets the variable?

Yeah, that is right... And I realize now that doing it would be completely pointless, since the amount of coding required for it is still the same, maybe even bigger.
Sorry. My mistake.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
