Move Players/Events to specific locations?

As the title suggests, I need to move player and other events (folks) to specific places. Is it possible for me to set it up so that when a certain event triggers, I designate co-ordinates for everything to move to? Thanks in advance to anyone who can shine some light on the situation.

Yes, either by move route command (on-map-movement) or set event location (change coordinates without moving between)


Those are basic event commands needed for almost everything, and if you haven't learned how to use them (and set switches to trigger them), then I suggest following the tutorial - you can find the links to them if you follow the link in my signature.

I understand all that, but I've got a bunch of characters wandering about randomly. Is it possible to get them to move to co-ordinates regardless of where they are?

Yes, but that's more difficult and depends on the map, if you don't want a teleportation.
You would need to find their position, detect the path to the target based on that position and then branch to the correct move route.


If your map is complex with a lot of walls and blocks, it might be easier to just pretent it's random movement, but have them follow a coded path to be able to switch to the correct moveroute - still a lot of work, but better than detecting a random position on a labyrinth map and control the way out of it.


For better help, you have to tell us what exactly you want to appear ingame, then we might be able to give other suggestions.

I didn't realise how complex it was. :/ Anyway, I'll make it seem random - thanks!

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
