Hey,

I'm looking for a plugin that allows diagonal movement up and down on sideview stairs. I'm not looking for a movement plugin that always allows diagonal movement, just that the sprites can automatically go sideview stairs up and down, just holding left or right arrow key.

There already excists a script for VX Ace that did this nicely. If someone could port this script or do something similiar, I would be very thankful:

Whoever makes such plugin for MV, as a thank you, I can offer making a map for you or edit some tile requests.

I was looking for the same thing, so I made it. It's just made in a few hours and I have about a week of experience with the program, but it seems to be working in my examples. If you use it and find bugs I will try to fix them.

It takes the idea from that vx plugin you linked about using terrain tags for going northeast and northwest. The joint of going up and down (and down and up) right next to each other looks off (I'm not sure I'm making sense, but I marked the problematic parts with red in the example), but for normal lateral stairs it looks nice.

You have to set up the terrain tags and the passable option in a specific way for the plugin to work properly, that way is shown in the TerrainSettings.png image, basically, you have to set the terrain tag both in the base of the stairs and in the stairs, then the base will be marked as non passable. The top part of the stairs doesn't carry a terrain tag, and is non passable too. I hope I'm making some sense with this.

Then the plugin parameters are what the terrain tags will be. UPLR for northeast, DOWNLR for northwest.

Anyway, I hope it's useful for you.

p.s. characters like cats and other cuadruped animals look kinda bad going up the stairs because the sprite is not rotated, but humans are all right

The LUNA_LateralStairs.js plugin works very well with OcRam's Passages, however, I did notice a small issue when moving "down" on the bottom of a staircase, then moving left or right. It looks a little awkward. I know this thread is over 3 years old, but is there a possible fix that can be implemented?

As this is a query unrelated to that of the OP, it is also hijacking a thread.

What I suggest you do is to start a new thread in Javascript/Plugin Support, giving all the details of your particular problem. Please remember to include links to the web pages for both plugins so that if anyone needs to check something before giving advice, they can access them quickly.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
