Ok, I am quite sure that this got answered somewhere and I cannot find it. When i test my game, the Character will only move up and left, I can stop him but he will only face up and left and the minute I release he proceeds to the left of the screen or the top of the screen and then will only move towards the upper left corner. if he encounters an event or an obstacle, he stops, I can access the in game menus, but then only Down or left works. Escape works.

Ideas? Feedback?

I am running W7 and I have a Steel series gaming keyboard and a Saitek game pad.

This usually happens if you have an old and obsolete tablet driver installed, or if an extra input device uses the wrong windows API.

First check see if it stil happens when the gamepad is not connected, then check if it happens after you deinstall the gamepad driver (and use the gamepad with the windows driver instead of its own.

other possible causes have been dirt in the keyboard or a defective keyboard

Have you tried restarting your computer?
That works mostly for me.

Ok, Keyboard and Controller work fine for everything except Rpg Maker VX Ace and Ace Lite. Have not had a chance to install new drivers yet, but behavior does not change when gaming pad is not plugged in. Restart does nothing to affect this issue. I'll try Installing new drivers today or tomorrow if I get the chance.

Apologies Andar, didn't see the tech support specific area.

NOT installing new driver - but removing the old driver (usually by deinstalling its software).
The error I know of (which has exactly those symptoms, including when the tablet/pad isn't even plugged in) happens because you installed an old and obsolute driver.

But newer windows versions have their own drivers, they don't need those old drivers anymore, that's what is causing the problems.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
