Movement on Paralaxx Maps

Hey guys, in a Space game I am making: You travel around in a spaceship in space.

For the maps, I used a picture a friend of mine took a few days ago. It works in MV just fine. However, when I try to move on the map: It won't let me.

Since there is no tileset section in the database for me to  change it, I need some help figuring it out!

I had this problem back when I started working on my space project. The answer is quite simple. Create a blank transparent tile and make it passable in all directions and then just fill the map with it. If you need things not to be passable then just delete the tiles where you don't want the player to go.

Having a transparent tile with simple X and O picture is arguably a must have when you do parallax mapping.

Set it as your B/C/D/E tile and use it to indicate area player can/cannot pass. Then replace them with the transparent version of each type of passability.

 


I suggest brushing up on the basics by reading parallax mapping guides..

Edit: Ooops, looks like I am one step too slow XD

I agree with Sin there... However for space (my needs in particular) the whole map is passable... all other images are either above or below the player. For other parallax uses I would definitely do the same as you suggested though.

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
