Hello! :) I'm wondering if it's possible to speed up the whole O X * thing in the Database.

When you import new tilesets, 90% of the time, everything will be in the wrong place, making the movement permissions all wrong for the tiles.

I don't want to sit there for an hour going "Star, star, x, o, o, o, star, etc."

I'm obviously going to have to do that regardless at some point, but the issue is, if you use for example, "Trees" in tileset 001, and then "Trees" again in tileset 003, you need to do the movement permissions individually for both of them.

Basically "Star, star, x, o, o, o, star, etc." x2

That's kind of a pain in the butt, no?

Please, if you have any tips, I'd love to know  :D

Thanks in advance!

Well, I don't think there's a way to make things any less painful (I know it's annoying, XD), but there's one thing you can do to save yourself time. If you are going to use "Trees" in two tilesets, you can set the permissions manually for one of them, copy the tileset and paste it as the second one you need. You'll have "Trees" done twice, and then you can start editing the second one as you see fit by adding/removing other tiles. (Does that make any sense?)

Anyways, movement permissions in RMVXAce are a lot easier than in RPG Maker XP, in my opinion. At least you don't have to worry too much about priority, and that was a pain in the butt on its own. XP

Shaz has done a wonderful pair of scripts precisely for this problem, so that you can import your tile sheets with the proper settings.  The scripts are called lazy_tilesets_exporter and lazy_tilesets_importer.  I can't find the link at the moment, but it shouldn't be too hard to track down.

EDIT

Here is the link

The main problem with those scripts is that it requires someone to have the correct settings to start with, who can export them. Hopefully we'll be able to get ALL the store resources set up with this file included, so it'll just be a matter of saving everything to the right place, adding the script and the tags, and running the game. I was hoping people who already had settings might consider grabbing the export script, running it, and sharing the settings file to make it easier. Otherwise it'll need to wait for the staff and people who have contributed to the store, and they're all pretty busy.

I really hope that becomes reality soon (^-^; ) I'm not too good with things like this hah...

I hope there'll be a new RPG Maker coming soon that adds all the necessities that we so desire!

If you have a specific tileset that's available here, and you haven't modified the tiles, you might be able to post in Resource Requests asking if anyone else is using the same tileset, and if they already have those settings taken care of, see if they can grab that script and export the settings for you. Make sure you include a link to the script ;)

XD I think I'd rather just do it all myself instead of going through all the trouble to do that... We've already established that I'm lazy! :D

You may close the topic now, I'll be alright ^-^

lol - since when is doing all that yourself easier than getting someone else to do it for you? Clearly, you need laziness lessons! ;)

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
