I haven't seen a question like this yet, so I don't feel dumb for asking it.

I have been trying to make an event that I can trigger multiple ways, but only the way on the final event page works without some kind of switch. What I'm trying to do is have a player take damage by an event touching them, but be able to trigger a battle by interacting with the event. Unfortunately, the second event page overrides the first. Is there any way that I can achieve the result I'm looking for without editing the script? If not, does anybody know where I can find the script I would need?

I admit to not fully understanding the question, but I think I mostly get it. Wouldn't conditional branches help here? From what I can tell, you want an event to hurt the player if it touches them, but if they interact with the event, it triggers a battle. I think you need to first clearly define what you mean, like, how would a player know interacting with an object would trigger a battle if normally when they touch it, it hurts them, and what defines the object won't hurt them when they walk up next to it to interact with it?

Anyways, my confusion aside, I imagine it'd be as simple as making a conditional branch, and defining when the player interacts with the event, it triggers a battle, otherwise state it damages them. Think that would be more effective that different pages for the event, since pages overwrite each other, while conditional branches make different things happen based on different conditions.

To answer about my intentions of the damaging and battling... This is intended to be a horror game, almost like if Silent Hill were an RPG. I want players to take damage from touching a monster but also for them to be able to engage in combat with it (though it does more damage in combat as to discourage fighting too often.) I do intend to make this known from the beginning, possibly in the form of a tutorial, since it is something you would never figure out any other way.

And thank you for your helpful response! You have made my dream game all the more possible.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
