Howdy Folks,

I'm fairly new to RMVX Ace (and the forums for that matter) and I had a design question that I needed help with. I'm working on a game that requires two world maps (a la light world and dark world from A Link to the Past) I was wondering, is this even possible to do, and if so, how would I be able to do it/enable my characters to jump back and forth between them? Thanks in advance for the help!

They would move between these worlds in exactly the same way as they move between any other maps.

You will have different tiles for each world, in the same way as you can have different tiles for any other map.

As you are very new to Ace, and the question you asked is a basic one, could I suggest you pause your game making for a short while and go through this thread by Andar.  He has compiled all the info and tutorials that people new to Ace need.  Spending a bit of time on this now will save you a lot of time and frustration in the future.

You can have up to 999 maps, no matter what you call them - and all transfers between maps are done by the event command "transfer player".

This command might be executed automatically by doors, or with restricted events, or from a common event called by items or skills.

And you can always give the commands to store a players current position before a transfer, to bring the party back there later.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
