Murder Is Game Over is a pixel art point-and-click murder mystery whodunit involving the untimely death of a famous game designer. You and your trusty companion, Cleo, are on the case!

A fabulously wealthy game designer is found dead outside his castle in rural Vermont, and soon evidence shows that this was not merely a freak accident attributed to local superstition. Now it's up to you to investigate the murder and apprehend the guilty. Play as unlikely partners -- ace sleuth Detective Guy and Cleo the clue-sniffing dog to explore the castle grounds, search for clues, and question suspects. Can you solve the case?

Hope you have time to give it a try! It's definitely inspired by Sherlock Holmes, Agatha Christie, and classic mysteries. Also the creepy atmosphere of Scooby-Doo. It's amazing how it's possible to tell different kinds of stories with RPGmaker!

Nice graphics in the screenshots! I see some tiles reminiscent of Time Fantasy. How much is custom?

Thanks. I don't think any of the tiles are custom, but I tried combining tiles from multiple sources to get the spooky mystery look I was trying to achieve. I definitely don't consider myself a visual arts expert compared to some of the incredible parallax maps or 3D creations I've seen people posting. There's a bunch of custom event art and key art in the game (as you can see in some screenshots), and all the music is custom-made for the project.

Unfortunately, the main plot is a bit short, the personalities of the characters are not distinct enough, and the picture and music have a lot of room for improvement.
