Music change after transfer question

I set the boat music. I move the boat through the water and disembark. The music changes to over world map music. I get back in the boat and it changes back to boat music . However when I come to a bridge and create a transfer to the other side of the bridge... The music does not revert back to the boat music. How do you fix this? It has been awhile since I used rpgvxace, but if memory serves me well, this was not a problem with that version.

Is the transfer to "the other side of the bridge" on the same map or a different map?


There is an issue where transfers to new maps, where there is BGM set on the new map, will override the vehicle music. Then when you get off the vehicle, the music from the original map plays.


Is that what's happening here, or are you seeing something different? (ps - this was also an issue with Ace)

it is on the same map which is the over world map. I honestly do not remember this happening in vx ace, though. I can fix the problem by adding a line below the transfer command to play bacground music and select the boat music. However the river is 3 squares wide as is the bridge and depending on which square you trigger the event on... It means 3 events on one side of the bridge to teleport and 3 on the other side. This is excessive events. Again... I am almost certain that this was nor a problem with vx ace. I read music problems all over this forum and I am beginning to think that there is a major problem with mv and music in general. If so, this is pretty bad and needs to be fixed. Now lag is one thing that can "PARTLY" be blamed on systems, but losing recognition of what type of tile you are on especially on the same map is a major bug.

What DOES happen when you do the transfer? Does the overworld BGM play, or none at all?


edit: never mind - have confirmed that it plays the map BGM. It's the same issue.

the over world background music plays. I do not understand why this happens. The boat music is set in system in the database and the over world music of course is set on the properties of the map itself. What is so strange is that just stepping off the boat and back on the boat works as it should, but that short little transfer changes things back to the over world map music every single time.

You're right - it doesn't happen in Ace. So not quite the same bug as the one we already know about.

i am not quite understanding something. If you confirmed it played the over world music, and you said that the only issue you new regarded different maps where this does no involve different maps.... Is it a bug or not? I'm sorry but your last remarks were kinda vague. If it is a bug should it not be sent up the ladder to the " issues to fix" list?

We already knew this happened when you transferred to a different map, and this also happened in Ace. We were not aware that the issue also happens when you transfer to the same map, and this did NOT happen in Ace.


The bug has already been reported, but I have added the new information to the log as there may be a secondary issue.
