Hello, everyone! I am back after a while with an... issue. :(

I can launch RPG Maker MV through Steam fine, at first, but if I were to close it and try to re-launch it... nothing. Steam's "Preparing to launch RPG Maker MV..." messsage appears, but that's about it--no splash screen, no taskbar icon.

What's stranger is that my Task Manager shows that RPG Maker MV is running whenever this happens. I end the task and try again, yet the problem persists. If I were to try to open it again, since Steam sees that's it's "running," it just tells me that MV is already running and still doesn't open.

I already tried going straight into steamapps and opening through there, as well as running as administrator and restarting all of Steam. The only solution currently is a full restart, but that has started to get a bit annoying...

Would anyone have an idea of something else I can try to fix this? MV was running fine before I started using it again... However, it's been a while since I've touched MV, so I guess it's possible something happened while I was away.

Edit: Made a fun discovery... If I open through the Steam client (by pressing Play in my Library) an MV task isn't even visible in my Task Manager but is apparently still running...) It was just taking forever to "start up," lol.

Thank you!! I'm using Windows 10. Please let me know if you need any more info. ;_;

Edit #2: Sorry about the numerous edits. So, I found my debug.txt and this is what's in it:

Code:

[0604/062637:WARNING:resource_bundle.cc(286)] locale_file_path.empty()
For some solutions I found searching around...
I tried adding the "opengl32.dll" file in the RPG Maker MV folder: nothing. I also tried restarting the Windows Management Instrumentation/Service services to no avail.

this happens if a program is not shutdown correctly - and that almost always means a defective program.

I suggest you first clear the steam download cache (to prevent it from keeping errors) and deinstall the program after that, then restart your computer and after the restart of the computer reinstall the program.
That should repair any damage done to the editor.

Hello, sorry for the late reply.

I've done those steps you've listed and that did not work...

After hearing Wataten's opening several times and knowing what this anime is about, I don't think I like moe anymore.
So I am working on a big DLC package for my game.... and it will add a new intro and extend the ending of the base game, while of course adding additional content to the game... Yeah, that should work! lol
