Well, I'm with some friends and we plan to create a project in rpg maker mv , I was wondering if we could it create a battle system similar to the game Zenonia s, and with the same style sprites


i thanks for yours help.


aaaaand    which the level of difficulty for such a feat ?


the game is maker for android and i want make to pc!

Anything is possible as long as you can program it in javascript.


That said, without a description of Zenonia's Battlesystem, we can't tell you if such a plugin already exists or if you have to write it yourself.


How much work that will be depends on your familiarity with MV and with javascript as well as what is needed - but complex battleplugins often require several months of work even from experienced scripters (simple battleplugins can be done in days)

I would not be able to answer your question for certain as I have no idea what that game is like. And I'm sure there are others here who don't know as well. When asking such questions, it's always a really good idea to post a link to perhaps a video demonstrating that battle system and maybe a link to the style of sprites.


Overall though, I would assume that with the proper plugins, it is possible. Whether those plugins are already available or would need to be requested or commissioned, I couldn't tell you. We can tell you more though, once we know more about the system.


The sprites CAN be done as the graphics in a MV made game can be whatever you like as long as they are formatted properly to work in the maker. A good example of this is Oh! Ko! which was made with Ace. Very unique graphics, but possible.

Actually it's a very hard task.


For the battle system, if you don't have a very experienced scripter, you will probably need to spend some hundred dollars and even so it would take some months to be done.


For the sprites, again, if you don't have an experienced spriter, you will probably need to spend some hundred dollars.


Evan creating a decent game with full RTP content and just using open-source scripts/plugin is not easy.


So you won't be able to create a decent game with both original graphics and systems without a LOT of effort or spending a LOT of money, specially if you are inexperienced with game development.

@zarshiel : that type of combat is called an action battle system (ABS) in this community. As far as I know, RMMV currently has no ABS plugin yet, but there are one or two in development iirc. The previous maker, VX Ace, had five ABS scripts after four years of being on the market.


ABS is one of the most complex battlesystem to program (at least if you want more than the simplest basic functions) and can only be done by a very experienced scripter with several months of work - you'll have to wait and see when such scripts become available (commissioning one like that would require a few thousand $ in payment due to the massive workload)

Well, to me one of the coolest things to program is an ABS, I have done one in Ace (not public) and a prototype in MV in a few days (3 or 4), and I can tell you it is not that hard. Since you are not a programmer, this will not be that easy for you. How others said, the best is have an advanced programmer at your team to make the things, or you can pay someone to do too.

A very basic ABS is like super easy, you can even make one from a few event lines... Making a non-very basic one, now that's something else...

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
