So many of the enemies in DLC packs are "monsters" and other weird things (or are just too disparate from the RTP style to be used). Need more *people*, yo. I've been looking and looking for a good pack of human and humanoid sideview battlers that are as close as possible to the RTP artstyle as possible.

Lots of soldiers with varying age, armor, weaponry, and gender would be great (not just simple recolors, I can do that. Complex recolors are cool, though). Hopefully not too gaudy in design. Don't want everyone to look like a boss enemy or player character, heh. But also different kinds of human enemies would be good, too (bandits, "adventurers", unseemly types, what-have-you).

Paid assets are fine, I'd rather not commission them if possible (since I have my own artist anyway), but whereever they are they need to be usable in commercial work.

    Thanks!

I am not sure about wanting it to look as RTP as possible, but one way that I handled the battlers to make it easier was that I used Victor's "Battler Graphic Setup" plugin and "Battle Motions" plugin in order to use the regular walking character sets for enemies and party members. My game has over 100 playable characters so making separate SV sheets for all of them would have been crazy.

There are some cool human battlers in the Fantasy Battlers Pack. I'm always looking for more unique battlers though. I for one have had enough of slimes though, there are too many that are made. But we could use some Giant Ants for instance.

Why not just look for character generator parts if you are dead set on the RTP style (since I am basing your version off of your "Primarily Uses:" part)?

EDIT: Oh wait, you aren't using Yanfly's Animated Sideview Battler plugin to use SV actors as enemies, are you? Nevermind my suggestion then.

Yeah, that pack is pretty cool. But the art is a little too far off in terms of style. I also feel like this falls under the problem of each one being too stylized. It's weird to say, but some of these packs I wish focused more on quantity over quality. Like, I need lots of interesting fodder. I don't need super cool boss dude man. But I guess just making average joe characters is boring for artists. :hsrs:

Made a few packs of hundreds of characters, I am not sure if it goes with the style of your game, but here they are:

That's cool, but I don't really plan on using that plugin to get walking sprites as battlers. I think I'm just gonna stick to the old fashioned sideview battlers. Unless I'm missing something. That's all I'm seeing in these files.

You're just wanting static battlers? I'm with JtheDuelist, why not use the generator? All you'd have to do is cut it down to a single frame and flip it horizontally.

Well, I still do want to use the creatures and such. It's just that I need a healthy amount of human enemies. So I don't want too much inconsistency in art styles. And I might end up doing something different with the player characters as well. I'm getting away from the chibi art in combat, basically.

It's an interesting statistic I'm seeing here. I guess Eastern-leaning games have very little human enemies in them. In most western RPG's, they're usually at least half the opponents you face.

I think whatever you end up doing for the characters should match the mobs, personally. I know older games didn't do that but it's been something that's always bothered me. The big thing that's making this tricky is getting stuff that matches the RTP. For things like tiles and sprites it can make things easier, but for some reason it's not the case with battlers. I guess because style differences are harder to hide at that size?

If you're not worried about matching the RTP, it opens up a lot more options. I think Thalzon has a decent amount of human mobs. Most of his work is front facing stuff, but it might still be usable and he's also the most prolific. https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/thalzons-battlers-and-faces.49/ and https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/thalzons-mv-battlers.46685/ There's also Ækashics who does a lot of battlers in a very striking animated style. The animation takes a special plugin, but it looks amazing. http://www.akashics.moe/battlers/ Then there's Holder, who mostly does people, though the animation sheet is different in setup than the default and it might be too small, depending on what you're doing with your game. https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/holders-animated-battlers.469/ or https://www.deviantart.com/dark-holder or https://animatedbattlers.wordpress.com/ not sure which one would be the best place to get them. There's also Vibrato http://p3x774.web.fc2.com/ and Milano Cat http://www.geocities.co.jp/Milano-Cat/3319/ if you'd be happy with japanese pixel resources. Sorry about posting so many pixel ones, it's more my thing than non-pixel.
