[MV Weapon Sheets]Looking for a pixel style weapon sheet.

I'm making a game using Mighty Palm's Mighty Pack. I'd want a weapon sheet to match.

Sword
Dagger
Axe
Bow
Spear
Wooden Staff
Wooden Club
Claws

Someone might know of an existing resource for you, but it should be pretty easy to pixelate any existing images by opening them in your image editor and changing size back and forth, messing with the interpolation settings.

Looking at the screenshots of the pack, you could also apply a palette change to have fewer colors, which would go with the unshaded sprites there.

Edit: Does that pack even have side view battlers, that you'd use weapon animations with? It's not listed in the description, and I don't think I see any in the screenshots.

I'm using an apparently old SRD plugin that lets you use walk sprites as battlers. Its good for what I need, but seems to break some functionality of Yanfly's battle engine. It's a sacrifice I have to make, I suppose.

Is there a pallet swapping tutorial somewhere? I don't know how to do that.

Probably? But it would, of course, depend on what software you're using. For example, I Google "GIMP change palette" and get both documentation and tutorials on how to edit palettes.

The more accurate term for what I was talking about is indexed palette, or colormap. So you can say "this image can only use these 12 colors" or whatever, and anything that was originally in between those shades will go away.

When I change the color map, it seems to change everything to completely different colors, mostly purple and white. Unfortunate.

Edit: Messing with the contrast seems to get closer to flattening the colors, however it still doesn't quite fit, as its still not x3 pixel scale like Mighty Palm's spites and tilesets are.

If you have photoshop, posterize, can be quite useful. It might mess with the colors. There are two ways to fix that. The first is that you select more same colors, the other being that after you've posterized you can use the fill tool without contiguos and just add the colors you want.

Posterize, as far as I understand it, just decreases the amount of possible colors that normalize towards a center.

Most times you need to do small corrections, but tends to be a decent starting point.

You should be able to select the existing colors in your image and say "this color is changing to this other color."

I found a solution of my own! First, I scaled the image down to a height of 128, then bumped the contrast up by 25 and scaled it back up to 384. These should work well enough, but if anyone feels like cleaning them up to make them look nicer, let me know!Weapons1.png

After I figured out the best way to deal with the weapon sheets, I tried using your method to get face sets that work in style. This did not work out so well! By the point it does flatten it a satisfactory amount, the colors are completely distorted. At least that's how it is in GIMP.

After I figured out the best way to deal with the weapon sheets, I tried using your method to get face sets that work in style. This did not work out so well! By the point it does flatten it a satisfactory amount, the colors are completely distorted. At least that's how it is in GIMP.
No idea how gimp does it to be honest. I could try to see what can be done in photoshop if you want me to. I am no master painter or anything though.

It's possible posterize works better with things allowing for randomness, like trees, rocks or even furniture and walls.
