My battle-menu isn't working properly

Hello,

first, I hope I didn't open this thread into the wrong section and I hope there isn't another similar topic since I've searched for hours. ^^'

Also, since I'm french, I'll give the french names of the menus and I'm really sorry if my english isn't really good.

Here we go:

Since I didn't work on the hero's skills until now, I never tried to test them into a battle so I went into the 'Troupes' menu.
Then I click on  'Test de Combat' (or maybe 'Fight Test' for english people).

I don't change the default setting of the fight, except the caracters I want to test, then I begin the fight.

And then, I immediatly see a glitched battle menu.

At first, I was thinking of a bad picture format for the file 'Window.png', then after I created a copy of it, I try with another skin I found on the forum, same result.
In fact, regardless of wich skin I use, in the final, I'll have the same black font and the same glitchy visual.
On the other hand, the item window is working perfectly.
I have to say that even if the window looks like.... this, it's working normally and the battle ins't affected.

I hope someone has an answer, it would be great. ^^'

MV Deployment is for help getting a finished project deployed to different devices, not for problems while still developing a game.


That said, changes like that are usually caused by plugins configured wrong or incompatible with each other - can you check if the same happens if you disable all plugins?


Additionally, some plugins don't work with battletest - can you check if the same happens if you fight inside a full testplay and not use battletest from the database?

That is really weird, are you sure you're using a MV windowskin not an Ace windowskin? Whatever the case, the windowskin seems to be the wrong size or something like that, the text colour would happen because there is black where the little dot with the right colour usually is. This leads we to believe it is the wrong size to use with MV.

The issue is that you're using a VXAce windowskin, that while has the same format as MV windowskin, is smaller.

if using vxace windowskin resize it to 192x192 and it will be fine

Try one of THESE MV sized ones, tell us, do they work? If so, it is just a windowskin size issue.

First, thanks to both of you for taking on your time to help me. ^^'

Secondly:

-> Andlar: I tried to enter a fight by using an event instead of using battletest and nothing changed and after check, I didn't install any plugin so I can't disable them. ^^'

-> Kloe: I was thinking about this, but the Window.png file is the one which is in the folder by default, so I guess it would usually work properly. If I, by mistake, used a wrong skin, it should be fix by re-downloading RPG Maker MV, right? Because I did it and nothing change neither.

Maybe I should check on the forum to find a good skin to use and replace mine with it?

resizing won't reduce its quality.

The project uses the windowskin inside the project folder, and that will not be changed by redownloading the editor.


A changed or damaged resource in the "NewData" folder that is used for creating new projects will be repaired by reinstalling, but once a project has been created that project's data can only be changed manually. That is to prevent automatic updates from resetting intentional changes.
