My character slows down in a Paralax map

Hi,

I was doing some experimentation with paralax mapping, but ran into a weird problem. When I try to walk around, my character is super slow. Strangely, in some areas (probably about two tiles in size), he can walk normally, but once he goes out of that area, he starts walking sluggishly again. How do I fix this problem? Do I have to use a script?

Also, how do I put my post in the RPG Maker VX Ace-specific forum?

Thanks.

Instead of clicking on the Tech-support Forum, you first click on "Maker Specific" and then click on "RPG Maker VX Ace" (or whatever maker you're using) and then post there. There is no difference between posting here or in one of the maker-specific forums.

I've moved this thread to Ace Support. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

And yes, as I said in the other topic you need to use a script to fix the parallax to the map - without that, the parallax scrolls independently of the map and the player movement.

There is no other way to use a parallax map without script in Ace.

Do you have any scripts you'd recommend that would solve my problem? I'm currently using Yanfly Engine Ace Parallax Lock v1.00, and it doesn't change a thing.

Also, "Maker Specific" is greyed out. I can't

click on it.

As for the character slowing down, I'd be looking to see what events you have running on the map - something set to parallel process as a trigger.  If you're displaying a picture or tinting the screen, people often put those things in parallel process events that don't erase themselves when they should, or that don't have a Wait X Frames when they should.  Those sorts of things will cause lag.

Hit F2 while the game is running and check your FPS.  If it is 50+ then Shaz is right and it's a lack of a parallax lock.  Get Yanfly's script to lock the parallax like King said above. Sorry read fast.  Do you have any terrain tag scripts that will effect player movement?  I had a similar issue before I solved it realizing that a script I had was using terrain tags in such a way that lowered player speed.

There are several scripts, but if they don't work for you then you made a mistake configuring and using them. Follow the link "how to use a script" in my signature to see what you might have missed.

As for the second part - you need to go into the forum before clicking on "ask a question" or "post a topic" - you can't move it yourself if that is where you're blocked, and the "maker specific" doesn't allow anyone to post there, you need to go through the forum tree to the lower level forums to post.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
