My first sprite! (Would like feedback)

Hello everyone!

I made my own first custom sprite.  It's basically edits and recolors of some generator parts.  I would really love some feedback on it to make it look better.  I really wanted it to have the blue gloves just like in the picture, but couldn't make it come out right.

Charater I'm trying to make.

The Character is Shimei Ryomou from Ikki Tousen/Battle Vixens.

A word of warning if you google her.  The show was very fan service filled, so may not be safe for work.

EDIT:  Added a green background to make the white parts stand out better.

I would love feed back or suggestions!

Yeah I know she doesn't use a sword, but it was the only decent full length frontal non-fanservice picture I could find at the moment.  Hehe....
