My game "Beginning of a Quest". How good is it and is it worth expanding upon?

Hello everyone.

Quite some time ago I've tried out RPGMaker VX Ace. I went through the series of tutorials (the one which is shown on th title page). And in a month (as I was using the trial version) made a small game.
Actually it is based on tutorials. You know, that story about Ryan, Madilyn and Winter. Well, it was not so much as a story, because the tutorial series was never finished.
So essentially I just added some cutscenes to make a coherent story, made a puzzle and called my game “Beginning of a Quest”. Because it was quite short and the story looked more like a prologue to a lager one.
Sadly, the game wasn't good or big enough to be published in a completed game section (or maybe there were some other problems – I don't know as moderator didn't specified). But still, I hate to do something for nothing, so after a long hesitation I make another try. I put the game here.
You can download it right from the link below. It uses (and requires) RTP, but I don't think it will be an issue as everyone who uses RPGMaker VX Ace has it installed. If you afraid of viruses, you can just open the project and playtest instead of launching exe file.
So please try my game out. It's only about half an hour long (maybe an hour if you want to do sidequests for special weapons) and to it's rather good. Or maybe it's not good, than at least I will know that from your comments.
Have a nice (I hope) play. I wait for your opinion, if you want this story (and game) to continue.

Ok, first off, bats should never be that powerful!

second, with some work on the dialogue (Madelyns especially) I think this could prove rather interesting. I would say continue it.

  I played through the game, it was pretty nice. And you should always try to finish your games. Because you learn so much everytime you try. I've been tinkling with RPG MakerACE for like 4years and I just recently learned a cool Mapping Technique.

   These are my first thoughts I'm writing down as I go through the game.



1. Ryan is VERY descriptive telling this random woman about the secrets of this almighty dangerous library.

2. Ryan doesn't say anything after getting knocked out. Seems odd to me. *OH JK* he just wonders where the thief disappeared to. Doesn't seem very concerned.

3. Athena, Atena, Atema were those all typos or are they all different things?

4. I have a spear, why is my attacking animation look like I'm punching stuff.

5. People like to describe ALOT of stuff to people they don't even know.

6. Why does winter have ZERO HP when joining us.

6.5 So Healing heals... Alot

7. Holy crap that's some expensive items, I only have 12gold and like 2% of the way to a levelup.

8. Where the heck are man eating plants at?

9. So happy to get Allcure. Only to find out it's an antidote...

10. Welp Winter dead. Oh thank god I can sleep at home.

11. I should just train on Wendigos. They actually give me OK exp and some actual money.

12. Yo, how much Morph Log do I need? At least it seems they always drop. JUST CANT FIND THE GUYS. (just found 2next battle...)

13. Why do man eating plants drop Wood anyways.

14. Just repaired the boat. Got enough money to buy ONE HEALING POTION. And I fought 2wendigos too.

15. Bat hit winter 2times she died. Time to run all the way back home to heal her.

16. Just realized how weird Skeletons Legs looked.

17. ON BOI IRON SHIELD, OH WAIT, ONLY WHITE MAGE CAN EQUIP...

18. Yay solved the puzzle! *next battle* OH GOOD EXPLOSION KILLED WINTER, NICE

 OH THANK GOD, WHITE MAGE ONESHOT BEFORE HEALING. AT LEAST SHE HAD THE SHIELD ADFSFSFSDFDSAF

19. Back home I go... Oh thank god, I have enough money to buy an Antidote which costs 3mp on Whitemage... Why so expensive

20. Found fairy in forest, where da fuq am I supposed to find some crystal gems.

21. Back in volcano, running from every fight cause it's so not worth it.

22. Winters Blind Spot has no animation

23. Morris just healed for 300HP. That's like my past 5turns wasted.

24. Boss Battle Part2, I hope Morris won't heal the dog.

25. Oh god, Doggie's Fire Breath can deal 200-600damage to anyone in my party... ffs

26. Distracting strike says it lowers Enemies Attack, but in battle it says Enemies Def is lowered. WAT

27. 100g from boss battle. I CAN AFFORD AN ANTIDOTE NOW

28. oh can't even spend the 100g I got from the boss... Still haven't bought a single item this game.

29. Still no elemental gems...

Thanks for support. I think that I indeed continue to work on this game. What exactly is bad in Madilyn's dialogues?

Wow! That was huge.   Some of my mistakes (like typos and unbalanced prices) are so obvious, I can't understand how couldn't I see them. So thanks.

About some points:



2. Ryan wasn't knocked out. It was darkness spell. So everything became dark and Winter had escaped quickly.

3. Atena is the right goddess name. Strange, I thought I caught all typos...

4. It's wooden spear. I think it is rather blunt.

29. Elemental gems are a drop from the fire, ice and thunder wisps. The old man in the village tells about it if you ask him several times. And location of the wisps (hills, snow and volcano island) are written in one of the books. Probably I should find some more straightforward way to tell this to the player.

When she first startd speaking There were a few instances where she seemed like she was about the speak like "I need not thy help. Thou cannot be of aid to me in this quest." I don't know if that was what you were going for, but that's the impression I got so I was a little confused. There seemed to be a lot of "Thoughs" that didn't really fit with the sentence so I assumed they were supposed to be "Thou". It jarred me a little is all.

With some polish, and some real thought into how each of your characters speak I think it could work.
