Hi Guys,
So I am creating a rather large Fantasy RPG.
There is a main quest line, and optional quests, what I need your help with is if you would find this appealing in terms of a quest line.
So in my game there are a specific set of 'people' called Mystics, they helped create and advanced all types of magic, some of these people are good, some are bad. - these are not my main plot, more an explanation to how magic is advanced in the world, as well as giving the world itself more backstory.
Basically when exploring the vast lands, you may come across a map that have a crystal pulsating a specific spell across the entire map, turning the crystal on/off will change the map.
So turning a crystal off may turn a once dead forest / no water etc. into a map full of life - water flowing etc.
Others you may turn a crystal on, and it will suddenly shift the water ways in a specific map to make a cave accessible etc.
What would you guys think of quests like these?
Should they BE quests, or should it just be when you figure it out, you can change the map (or should I not really bother with the idea?)
