I never even saw the mmohutace  minimap (or whatever it is called). But it's highly unlikely that it's the same because I created this script from scratch and some code is even from another guy on these forums that he added to it (which mostly proves that it is original because it's not solely build by me). So if it is the same then mmohutace simply took the code from my minimap.

Yes I used sample maps.
that sample map is somehow accidentally got chosen by two scripter who create the script for minimap. :D . EPIC.

but i think because the sample map good looking (mapping technique which utilize wrapping the map using tiles. looks good when changed as minimap). so maybe that's the reason that map got picked :D ..

Yes I picked it because it was somewhere near the top I believe plus it had a weird size which makes it better to debug plus it is good looking indeed :) .

I am currently using this script for my game. and im loving it :) but i have a question......

How can i hide the minimap whenever i access the menu? (menu by pressing Z button)

and returning it when i exit the menu.

I'm subscribed to this topic. There is no need to send me a P.M. as well.

It already should have done so automatically by default but it seems that it didn't work correctly (the map was hidden but because the map scene was not updated, the minimap was still shown until the menu was closed..). I fixed that in version 1.04a now.

I have a bug:

After encryption project minimap is no longer displayed.

Any idea?

Yap it seems that you are right. I need to look into that matter again as well.

I was accusing you of robbing code or anything they maps just looked similar. I apologize if thats the way it came across.

but this is one hell of a minimap!!! Outstanding work.

That should have been fixed as of 1.04a. I tested it in 1.04b and at least there it seems to work. Let me know if it doesn't work. But please let me know what you did exactly that caused the minimap to show in the menu if it still doesn't work. Because I could not replicate the bug in the latest version.

However, it still fades out and back in again when you want it to show (HIDE_IN_MENU = false) after closing the menu. But that is just a small issue that I need to fix someday :p .

it even has a larger map which is 500 by 444 tiles faces wide 

I've had people play tested and they said I needed a map

how do you get the map images

and how big is too big for the map?

for my main town in my game as 190 by 202  tile spaces wide 

it even has a larger map which is 500 by 444 tiles faces wide 

I've had people play tested and they said I needed a map
- To get the images you need Tsukihimes mapsaver.

- 500x444 definitely is a big map as it will produce a map the size of 16000x14208. I will probably fix that performance issue in the next update or so because I have a big map myself :p . I need it working anyway. Perhaps I'll just scale it down or something by 60%.

EDIT:

Uploaded version 1.05

Fixed the minimap to handle super large maps (500x500). It also consumes less resources now (if configured properly).

You could break the map to several parts. Then save the image using tsuki script... Then combine it using any image editing software.

Need a little knowledge about how to combine it though.

Hmmm I never knew that Tsukihimes script crashes on the 500x500 maps.. Seems it does :( . Yap I agree with what Estriole said unless Tsukihime wants to release an update that supports the max size maps as well.

I won't support a settings menu or any other menu's for now. I just provide the minimap. Writing a menu is really simple anyway and you could have anyone do that for you (commission).

The minimap could be expanded to support multiple arrows instead of just 1 but I don't need it personally so chances are low for me to implement that. But it's just a matter of adding an extra parameter to the notetag and an array for the different arrow sprites. But you will still have to add some extra script that combines your quest script with the minimap script. But you could make the main quest blink to make it different.
