The trigger on the laser is Action button, not parallel process/autorun

Further, maybe try setting the second event page not to self-switch a, but to Switch [story Event 4]. Just leave the 1st page as the laser image and nothing else (except maybe a text box to say that the laser prevents passage or something). If you do that, you won't need a trigger, and when the switch is turned on, event page 2 actiavtes and the laser is effectively gone.

Yes, you should be using the "conditions", not a conditional branch. Delete the conditional branch entirely. Also, I would name your switch something more specific like "turned off lasers".

Check out part 3 of my beginner videos in my sig -- it goes over switches, variables, conditions, etc. (For Ace, but it's the same in MV)

Oh wow! What a coincidence! I've been religiously listening to your guides to help me! I'm actually on your third video now for switches and variables. I'm a big fan of your work. I've never been able to understand much of this game before your videos. Now I'm slowly but surely grasping it. You're a hero! You make it very clear and easy. Can you do me a solid and explain to me the conditions in some more depth?

Also got another issue. I can't quite seem to get the hang of self switches. Unless its the conditioning again >.>

Thanks! As Jecht said, uncheck the selfswitch condition on the first page.

I think my videos explain it better, but conditions are always checked starting from the LAST page. So the program looks at the last page that has the selfswitch A on, and says "Are all these conditions true?" Before you've talked to the guy, the answer is NO, because you need to talk to him so that A is turned on. So the program then looks at the "next" page (to the left), and again checks the conditions. You can have multiple conditions set, and they would ALL need to be "true" for it to "run" that page.

So when you first talk to the guy, the first page runs, and that turns on selfswitch A. Now if you talk to him again, the second page conditions will be true, so it will only run the second page.

Create a treasure chest "quick event" by right-clicking on the map, and see how it's set up. It's pretty simple when you're only using selfswitches. And watch my whole 3rd video, and try it out yourself. :)

He mad, but he cute :kaopride:

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
