I'm looking for a script that loads a file from a previous game to give certain events in a future game. For example, my first game, Power Master 1's file can be transferred into Power Master 2's folder. I need a script that has Power Master 2 read that file and pull information from it that'll effect the game. I'm not entirely sure if this is possible, but can someone point me in the right direction or create this script for me? I know the later may be a lot to ask, but it would be extremely helpful since I have no idea how to make scripts on my own...

Um... not quite. I want the game to read a file transferred over from another game, not to select options or chapter from the first game internally. Like, you copy the game file manually from "Game 1," and paste it into the main folder of "Game 2." Game 2 would read the file when prompted and, based on what it reads from Game 1's file, the game changes accordingly. This might be hard, as the file would still be called "File 1" for example, thus taking up a space in the file select, so maybe this isn't possible? There are a few games I know that do this, but most of those use a Password system, instead. So if that would be easier...

If you are using the exact RM version + exact same script data pattern, it's possible to simply move the save file from another project.

What you can do is make a room for end game. And have the player save in that room.

Tell your player to move file saved in that room to your new project.

Then in your new project, create that exact room (or just copy from project 1). Make sure it's the same map id.

When your player load the file, he/she will end up in that room.

You can then start the game(move to your starting map) by exiting the room, this way the save data from project 1 should be inherited by your new project.

Edit:

Forgot to mention, it's best that you copy all the files(except unwanted maps) in the [Data] folder in your old project to your new project and start building your new project based on that if you plan to move save file from old project to your new one. You will need to keep all the old datas as it is and add new ids for new items/switches/variables in your new project.

Else you might end up with missing variable/switch/item and cause the new project to be unstable when loading an old save file.

On my journey of character rework: I had this character, she was meant to be just a princess that joins your party. And at long term she was just uninteresting... So I tweaked her to be a rebel agaisn't the royalty before meeting up with the party.
