Need help identifying a Window_Message property/fn

Hello,

I am trying to find what property or function in rpg_windows.js -> Window_Message takes care of drawing the little arrow (based on the system skin) at the bottom of the message window when the engine is waiting for player input.

This is because I am making a custom window myself and I want to also draw the small arrow at the bottom to tell the player the game's waiting on his/her input.

I'm at work so don't have MV with me, but I think there's a function called showPause or something similar. Do a search through that file for pause and see what comes up. I also wonder if it could be handled in the rpg_sprites.js file.

Close enough.

It was startPause(), and it sets the flag this.pause = true.

Doing that in my window does cause the input icon does show, but it's transparent and not blinking.

I'll keep digging myself, but if you remember something else please let me know.

rpg_core.js -

6133 - Window.prototype._createAllParts - creates the sprite
6284 - Window.prototype._refreshPauseSign - looks like it moves it and updates the image
6342 - Window.prototype._updatePauseSign - sets the alpha and also looks like it moves it and updates the image

I found those just by doing a global search (control + shift + f) for pause. I use Sublime Text, which allows me to open an entire project rather than just one file at a time.

There is more logic around this.pause in rpg_windows.js so you could still have a look and see what else happens there.

Ugh, figured it out.

Setting this.pause to true was enough, thanks!

The bug was elsewhere.

Basically, I was constantly re-initing this new window.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
