First off, this isn't really a commercial project - it is actually a very private - very personal project.

But since I am looking for a service that I am willing to pay money for and since the "classified" section seems to consist entirely of fundraising/crowdraising posts, this seem to be the only section suitable for what I am looking for.

I am looking for someone to help me make a really, really small, really, really short Zelda-like game.

It is meant as a very personal gift/personal message to my daughter whose name is actually Zelda and which (for complicated reasons) I haven't seen in a while.

I have no experience with the RPG Maker (other than playing a few games) and would need help in that area. As said, it is just intended as a personal gift/personal message and as is therefore gonna be very short.

wrong on both counts - but that is nothing to be ashamed of, you couldn't know better.

There are sections for paid requests (and paid offers), but they are invisible to you. After several bad experiences with users on paid commissions, we decided to require people to be part of our community before they are allowed to offer or request paid work - which basically means you need a higher post count before you can see those sections.

That said, this community is extremely helpful, and if you're willing to learn how to work with RM, you should get to that point very fast by asking questions on how to make what you want.

I also suggest working through the "staring point" tutorial linked in my signature as that will get you the basics as fast as possible.

As a general guideline: usually the time factor between development time and playing time is 100 - which means that on average, a game that lasts one hour will require one hundred hours of development time.

I'm moving this to introduction as it doesn't fit any other forum part yet.

I've moved this thread to Introduction. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

Well, since you are new and this is in Introductions now, "Welcome to the group!"

You need an action battle system script. I recommend going with rpgmaker VXAce as it has the most developed ones (like Falcao ABS), although MV has one in Alpha right now that seems decent.

the default combat in rpgmaker is turn based and not like Zelda at all.

Feel free to ask me anything about it I'm making a similar game as we speak

I can understand you wanting me to be a part of the group first and having me work with the RPG Maker on my own first.

But the point is, if I where to do that, I really would not need to offer a commission any more and I wouldn't need your help any more. I came here to offer a commission, precisely because I don't have the time to do it on my own.

As for the time required. Since the project is really just supposed to be around 5 minutes, the development time shouldn't be too bad, even if you assume it is times 100. But if you factor in me having to do X amount of posts first, me making myself familiar with RPG maker, me figuring out how to make the RPG maker run on my system, me having to buy a new computer after realizing that I can't get it to work on my Linux computers, me having to do X amount of introduction posts, me becoming friendly with the community here, me showing interest in other projects first, me becoming familiar with windows and then becoming familiar with the RPG maker and becoming familiar with making my own games with it etc..

If you factor in all that as development time as well, you can probably calculate the 5 minute playing time times 10.000 (several weeks) instead of times 100 (a few hours) if you where to allow me to commission somebody.

Suffice to say, I came here to commission somebody, precisely because I don't have the time to learn and do all that myself.

Ok, so maybe this should be in Classifieds after all?

what are you willing to pay? that is really the major factor in the whole thing...asking someone to make a game for you is a lot, five minutes or not!

Welcome!

There are game engines made specially to create zelda games but they are rather hard to use. I also think rpgmaker is better since it is simpler to use and you will be able to customize the game more, so I think you have made the right choice. Hope the gift comes out well!

Hmm... Then why not go to other sites which are RPG:M sites and post there?... I'm just wondering since it sounds like you have no real interest in the program or in the community.

Depending on the quality I am willing to pay between 100 and 300 dollars (via Paypal).

I have. I actually went to around a dozen or so RGP Maker sites (most of them in German). But usually my post was not accepted in their equivalent of their Classifieds either and in the end nobody offered their help, so I came here. But it took like a week before my second post here was even approved and in the meantime I realized my mistake. I was thinking that it would be best to post in RPG Maker related Forums and so I signed up on Forums like this one and was sure the people would help me. By now I realized that people are skeptical and won't help someone who just signed up, has a low post count and shows no interest in their community or in their other projects.

So in the end I posted on a Forum that has nothing at all to do with RPGs, but where I am already a long time member and have already made several hundred posts. And even though the people there know nothing about the RPG Maker and even though I offered them no money at all, a lot of them offered to help. So in the end it was mainly a valuable lesson for me about group dynamics.  :)

But of course for the time being my offer to you still stands, as I am sure you guys know much more about the RPG Maker than the guys at the RPG unrelated forum.

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
