Hey guys, I need a little bit of support or direction here.
I have designed a pretty awesome map, great in detail and so on. When I play the game the viewing area is only so many squares long.
Is there a script that I can use to increase the viewing area? Not the resolution, as the resolution just stretches the squares out to fit.

Many thanks,
Mark

what you're talking about is the screen size of the game - and the stretch happens if you go to fullscreen on a higher monitor size without changing the games screen size.

There are several plugins that can change the screen size. But you should keep a few things in mind:
1) screen size needs to be values that can be divided by tilesize (48x48 is the default). You will get map distortions if your screen size is not a multiple of 48x48.
2) screen size is minimum map size, and the editor only gives the minimum for the default screen size.
If you use a greater screen size, you'll need to make sure that all maps in the game are big enough. using a map that is smaller than the screen size will result in map distortions as well.
3) there is a physical and mathematical connection between screen size, monitor size (and you don't change your monitor) and resolution (the resolution in pixel per inch).
Changing one will affect the others, increasing screen size will make the player and tile smaller in fullscreen because your monitor size is fixed. You'll need to experiment with that.
4) the screen size is the hardware requirement for anyone to play, if you make it too large then only people who have the hardware for that screen size will be able to play your game.

I am playing around with the multiples of 48, but it still seems to show the same viewing area. What scripts could you recommend for a larger viewing area? I do have Yanfly Core where I currently change values, but it doesn't show the change I am after.

Ignore the comment above, I have realised I had to change it in RMV's own script setting also.
Thank you very much it has helped! Now I just have to experiment... :elswt:

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
