Been struggling on this one for a few hours.

Basically, I want the player to enter a house, then have an event character approach the player immediately upon entry, and say "follow me." The event character would then walk away, and the player would be able to move and follow the event across the house.

I have set the event to be on autorun, then to move toward the player and say the dialogue. The problem is that I can't figure out how to make the event move, and also to be in control of the player at the same time while the event is moving. I have tried numerous combinations of switches and parallel events, and I can't figure it out.

The problem seems to be that because the initial event is set to autorun, the dialogue keeps repeating itself unless I have the event movement command set to "wait for completion," which I do not want.

You should set it to parallel for the trigger! Autorun generally doesn't allow movement for the player :o

Keep autorun on. Instead of making the event transparent, erase it. Or activate one of its self-switches and add a blank page right after with that self-switch as the condition to make this a one-time scene.

Scratch that. What you can do is first lock out the player with an autorun while the NPC approaches them (wait for completion) and says "Come with me.". After that, activate the self-switch A.

Page 2, condition is self-switch A, the process is parallel, appearance is the same as the previous page and you can get the frequency to 4 in the autnonmous movement section. Put in the movement route with wait for completion, after that instead of making it transparent just activate the self-switch B.

Page 3, condition is self-switch B, trigger by action button. The event has no appearance and doesn't do anything.

That's your one-time event. Now if you need to play this sequence again, make a 4th page in parallel process with a condition that will be true when you want to reset the sequence. In that page you just need to turn off the self-switches A and B, then make the 4th page's condition false (by either turning off the regular switch, making the variable lesser than the threshold you wrote, removing the condition item, or getting the condition's actor out of the party).

just make the move route after "come with me" on event page 2 with it running as parallel and make your current page 2 into a page 3

I found it worked just by changing the trigger from autorun to parallel.

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
