I’m Making an RPG and I am having a difficult time with making a huge sprite.


This Sprite is 1440 x 2560 pixels and it's very difficult to get working. I don’t know if I should make into a character or just have as part of the tileset. I need to be able to move, but RPG VX ace keep restricting the size of it for some reason, which ends up destroying the sprite. The sprite itself is just one image, but if was to animate it how would I go about doing that?


If you know what I am doing wrong or if you know what I need to do to get it working please tell me. Thank you.

Can I ask WHY you need a sprite with such a huge resolution? There isn't a display on the market that will show an image that large.

I'm also curious - you say you don't know if you should make it a character or a tileset, which makes it sound a bit like you are not doing either one of those at the moment. And if not, how are you showing it as a sprite? Or perhaps I've misunderstood.

In theory, you can have a character sprite that large as long as it follows the format outlined in this topic. https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/sprite-sheet-formats-and.63612/

But in practice, I don't know how it would work formatting. And, as Llareian pointed out, monitors would not be able to display the whole thing, so what is the purpose?

You need to tell us more.

There is no size restriction at all in VXA, the only requirement is to follow the correct sprite structure. And to determine where the Problem is we need to know which structure you're referring to with that pixel number.
Is it a spritesheet, 4x2 sprites of 3x4 cells each, for a total of 12x8 cells?
Is it a single sprite, only 3x4 Celle (in which case the filename needs to Start with $)?
Is it a single cell, in which case it is unusable and you need to turn it into a sprite?
