I'm trying to make a timed variable quest repeatable. I've got everything to work but the repeatable part. The questgiver gives you the quest and you have 40 seconds to go to each rabbit hole and get a rabbit. Then make it back to the questgiver before time is up. Any help would be appreciated.

Control Variables, I think, lets you record the current game time into a variable.

Set a variable to the current game time, then add 40 seconds to it, when you are given the quest.

When you come back, set another variable to the current game time, and if its value is less than the first, it means the player has done the quest in less than 40 seconds (IF they have actually done the quest, of course)

If you don't know how to use control variables and conditional branches, then I suggest you temporarily stop working on your own project and use a new project for working through the tutorials.

Variables are one of the most important part of eventing, and you'll need them to get anything halfway complex in your project.

I suggest you follow the link in my signature and work through those tutorials to get the basics. It'll take a few weeks (depending on your time), but that time will speed up your later game development a lot.

But I had forgotten to mention I was using self-switches for my mini game and I'm not sure how to fix that. I have it so you can go up to a rabbit hole and grab a rabbit. And each hole has one rabbit. And there are 10 holes. Any advice?

So on each hole/rabbit, you will Control Variables to increment the number you have caught, and then Control Self Switches to turn on a self switch which activates a new page, ensuring you won't get a rabbit from the same hole twice.

I don't know how to do screen shots. I know I'm a noob.

I am using the self-switches on the rabbits holes, which is the problem. I'm trying not to use self-switches so I can have the option to restart the quests if you can't finish it in time. I do have a control variable on the questgiver that counts how many rabbits (if any) that you caught. It also shuts off the timer when you talk to the questgiver when you have all 10. Everything works perfectly, but I can't figure out how to restart it.

How to take a Screenshot:

You've heard people say to take a screenshot, but how does one take a screenshot of their game? Simple, while the game is running, hit the Prt Scr button on your keyboard, which is located right next to your F12 key. If you're using a laptop, you might have to use the Fn key in combination with the Prt Scr key to get it to work.

Now that you've pressed the button, it's time to paste this screenshot into an image editing software. If you don't have anything fancy such as Adobe Photoshop, GIMP or Paint.NET, no worries; you can use MS Paint instead. Open up your image editing software, create a new file, and then hit ctrl+v on your keyboard, or simply right click on the screen and select paste. This should instantly paste the screenshot into your image editing software. You can go ahead and crop the image to suit your needs, or if you don't even know what that means, you can just upload it as it is.

Save the image as a PNG, or if you really need to, as a high quality JPG.

How to upload the image to the forums
Now that you have you have an image on your computer you'd like to show us, how can you get it to show up on the forums? Firstly, you need to find an image hosting site, photobucket.com or imageshack.us are popular ones. If you have another image uploading website, great - use that one! Either way, upload it to the site, and then get the direct link. Don't get the resized link, or the thumbnail link, but the direct URL. You'll know you have the direct URL if the URL ends with the file extension you saved your image in (which will hopefully be .png).

Once you have this direct URL to your image, simply use the IMG tags in your forum post and paste the URL in between them. If this image is big, please leave the image in spoiler tags.

Can you show me an example about the direct URL? I have no idea where my IMG tags are in my forum post. I'm using photo bucket. And I've put all the pics into an album.

With Photobucket when you hover your cursor over the left side of the image, a menu appears.  Select 'Share links' .  A large dialogue box comes up headed 'Share links'.  'Direct links' is the second one down.  Click on it and it will copy the url to your clipboard.  Just paste it.

O.K I got it. But it's too big. What size should the pics be? I have 4 pics to post.

Just put the link into your post. I'll fix it if it needs to be fixed.

Game Over? For failing a mini-quest?  I think players will consider that rather harsh.

Well, it's a harsh world. Fail to catch all the rabbits-GAME OVER. Fail to catch a thief-GAME OVER. Fail to solve an advance Calculus problem in 5 seconds-GAME OVER.

Actually I just made each rabbit hole a different control switch. So now I have 47 control switches in the first 30 minutes. By the time this game is done I will have a million of them.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
