Hello everyone, I am new on this forum and RPG Maker VX Ace, I am currently working on a game. I downloaded a script from Galv, it is the Character Animation script, but I kinda have a problem with it, I want to change the speed of the idle animation, sadly I am not very experienced with ruby so I can't figure out how to do that.

I already asked Galv if he could edit it but he said I should ask on the forums because he didn't have the time...

Anyway if someone could help editing the script so I could change the idle animation speed, that would be awesome!

Here is the link to the script:

http://galvs-scripts.com/galvs-character-animations/

Thanks in advance.

I didn't test this but it looks like if you change it on line 80:

idle_anim if @idletime == 5Try lowering the five to a smaller number.

Doesn't work :/

It gives me an error on another script.

I don't see anywhere in that script where the animation speed is set. Which means it COULD just be the default animation speed.

In that case, take a look at this script mod requested by someone else and see if it's useful.

I am sorry for posting in the wrong section, I am new here, I'll be more careful next time.

I tried your script, it works but the problem is it affects the speed of NPC's too and the speed of the whole character (including the walking and dashing animation), I just want to reduce the speed of the idle animation (for the player character) in Galv's script, it needs to be modified because it is not implemented. He already did the dash speed control, maybe someone could look at it and modify it to include idle speed control.

Since the speed change has to be called from an event, you could choose when/where to call it (so it doesn't need to affect the speed of NPCs unless you tell it to). However, you WOULD still need to put in a call from Galv's script, as you can't really detect when they're idle and when they're not (at least, not in a way that doesn't require a parallel process for each event/character that's constantly running, and that's just messy).

So I need to put an event to call it on every map? Because I want the idle animation to be my character breathing, but he breathes too fast.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving!
