Hey everyone!

(I take no credit for the scripts being used, yes I've made changes, but the work is still the original author's. Credit will be given once this is in an actual game.  Right now, it's just a play thing :p  )

Actually never mind, here's the credits and scripts used.

Khas - Khas Awesome Light Effects.

Killozapit - Khas add on for lights to move with an event for example, the fireball.

Vlue - (Basic Climate, Advanced Game Time, Crafting System, Basic Options Menu, Basic Message SE, Popup Window, and Basic Quest System)

Xiderwong & Moghunter - XAS ABS Hero Edition Ace (Ver Experimental 0.5)

Shaz - Overlay Effects

Zeus - Fullscreen ++

I've been working on a small little compatibilty project for XAS ABS.  What this is, is not a game.  It's just ALOT of different mechanics all implemented onto 2 very small maps to see what does, and does not, get along with each other. :p

I'm looking to get feedback, and suggestions on this.  It can be anything as long as it's constructive and not demeaning, if so I'll just pretend you don't exist lol. Also, please read the notes on the videos.  They may have suggestions you're already thinking of :)

Below are two videos showing it's features.  They are each about 2 min or less, and the second one is just an update! Thanks XD

Notes so u don't have to go to youtube :p

~This is just a compatibility project for Xas Abs.
Animations will be redone and made way better, later.
For now, this is just to make sure everything (scripts, events, etc...)
plays nicely together. :

Notes::

Update for Xas Abs Compatibility Project.

1. First in the video I show you that the fireballs now emit a light source even,  also changed how light reacts to walls and what not.
with the added layers(sunshine/rays of light). Had to change Z surface values.

2. I've also implemented a day and night system (thank Vlue!) that interacts with the layers
and weather. If it's day time, and it rains, the rays of sunshine dissappear and
reappear when it stops raining. This give the effects that clouds are covering the sun.
Also lights and the sunshine/rays of light, turn on and off depending on day/night.
(if you do something like this don't forget to event your transfer events when you're
returning outside or it'll be really weird :p )

3. Alchemy, I think it explains itself :p

4. I've added CT(stamina) penalties if you hold your shield up too long
or if you dash for too long, or if you simply use up all of your stamina.
If you do, you have to wait for it to fully recharge to use your shield or run again.
Can still swing your sword though :p I couldn't be tooooo Sadistic XD

Next update will have the tints all worked out to look right/better.
Some animation changes. (hopefully :p )
Better pixel movement (probably won't happen, but I'm gonna to try my hardest)

If you have any suggestions let me know :)

Looks awesome, is it script only?

By the way, does XAS support buff and debuffs via skills?

Lots of scripts, with script calls, comments, and quite a few events with nested conditional branches. Only 1 common event that's activated when you accept the quest to get a potion, it just checks your inventory till you have >= 1 potion, then sends you a pop up.

Yep, XAS does support buff and debuffs.  I haven't actually implemented it yet, but I'll give it a go so I can give detailed instructions on how.

Thanks for clarifying.

When I tried XAS, I found it to be too complicate for working solo, seems like it takes a lot of time to configure everything.

Like creating all original skills for you game would take forever hahaha.

Or maybe im just very premature...

You are doing geat though, keep going.

Well, about the solo thing. I cut about half or more of XAS out :p So it's not too bad.

The hardest part, is making the animations from scratch, I'm new to gimp so it's kind of a pain in the you know what.

RMMV
Looks very good! Maybe you want to add a script that allows the player to turn without moving? Should be floating around somewhere.

Aside from that, the blinking bars are a bit annoying. Rather make them blink if their values reach a critical low, or not at all. Some polishing, nothing more.

Great job!

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
