Need text to vanish on its own.

This is probably a simple thing and someone may have already asked already but I don't even know what to call this type of action.
Basically what I need to do is have text appear on the screen, and after x amount of time passes it goes away, without the player
being able to speed it up or do anything with it. I hope I am explaining this well.

I am using RPG Maker MV of course, I've fiddled around a little bit but so far haven't found anything that can
make this happen.

You can make this in the message.
If i'm not wrong if you put this \| in the show message text, it will wait 1 seg. If you put more, more seg.
And to the text vanish also has an option to this in the text codes. Something like "not wait for a input"

That works very well, is there a way to set it so the player can't skip the dialogue? I need the text to appear for x amount of time, without
the player being able to interfere with it at all.

of course - I suggest you open the help file and check the list of the text codes yourself, there are too many to explain everyone to you here.

Try this:
Type your text and put this after \| \| \| \| \^

If you hover your mouse over the text box it will display a list of all the codes you can use to do different things in the text box, like wait a certain length of time, make the text disappear, change the text color, display the party leader's name, and way more! Go check it out!
