I basically need you guys opinion about another website  (rpgmaker.net) or rmn

I am also fairly new to their community and I was highly disappointed by the events that unfolded there as I tried to post a thread about looking to do mapping work for $.

To make a long story short, I wasn't the nicest person in the world  but they started bashing my mapping skills. I have made custom tiles and they were saying I was a fraud and a scammer looking to steal peoples $.  I had one inquisitor boat in my picture and quickly deleted it but they were so intend on hammering me to the ground.

needless to say I will never be back there again and I was wanting a general opinion from you guys if you have heard of this website.

Liberty and Kentaru or whatever his name is both took place in absolutely crushing my dreams.

thanks for listning and if you would like to see a couple maps, I have included them below.

thanks for reading

PS : I do appreciate the opinions about my mapping skills but I am looking for more of reference opinions about the rmn website as they are saying I have copied my tiles or stole them.(again accusing me of fraud and scammer)  Which is totally untrue and they would not let me defend myself.

I would also like to extend a gift to this website as a welcome present to show my good faith.

What is it you say? it is a custom floor template that I created to make custom floor tiles. The easy color coded lines and pixels will have you on your way to your next project saving valuable time when aligning sections of the tiles. It has helped me greatly and I extend this to the rpgmakeweb community with great pride. (no credits needed)

Looks nice enough.
Only thing I'd nitpick at is that it feels like there's some sort of inconsistency between the characters and the terrain...

Landscape looks a bit more... muted, perhaps, than the characters' brighter color schemes. Looks a little bit off, somehow.

I don't see anything wrong with those maps really. Quite pleasing to the eye in fact.

ty, I agree these are default sprites, and they are to bright... I have not yet started making sprites but I feel it soon~

The only reason you were given issues in RMN is because you claimed that you own the resources and have the rights to sell the RTP. When our EULA stated that we waive Royalties but the copyright remains to Enterbrain and other DLC makers if you are using some.

Please get the facts straight.

Um, about the tiles themselves, while the individual tiles look decent, they don't really come together well and clash. >_> ;

The end result actually looks pretty awkward, but I do think with some more work it could look consistent and nice? yeah I think so :v

Not going to give my opinion on RMN because that seems a bit rude to me and encourages drama which is against the rules around here.  I'll give my opinion on the other two though.

Mapping:  Serviceable but plain.  If it were your own game I wouldn't mind it, if I were paying you I'd want my money back.  Keep in mind that by charging for mapping you're in direct competition with other mappers like Indrah.  (Actually, I think she may be the only mapper, but who'd want to compete with Indrah? ;) )

Tiles:  I think you're trying too hard to make something quickly, these look unfinished and unbalanced.  When I first looked at these I thought you were editing a bunch of things together like trying to get the High Fantasy tiles to work with the RTP.  I think you could get these looking really good with some work but they aren't there yet.  You should probably start by defining a style so your stuff doesn't clash with itself.

From our forum rules:

8. Do NOT encourage drama, such as site wars.
If you have an issue with another site, you should resolve it with said site -- not by discussing it here. We're not responsible for what RMN does, and we don't have a say in how they run things. Quite a few of the RMN members are also members of the forum here, and they don't need to be dragged into a volatile discussion where they have to defend themselves or their forum.

You are welcome to ask for feedback about your mapping. We have a screenshot thread that's a good place to get feedback. But please refrain from discussing this situation again.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
