"THE COLOURS OF LIFE FADE WITH MEMORIES OF THE PAST AND ARE REBORN WITH THE LIGHT OF THE FUTURE"
I am planning on making this game in both English and Japanese.
I am planning on making this game in both English and Japanese.
- HOW MY PROJECT CAME TO BE
So here's the story:
Basically, I LOVE creating stories, characters, worlds and mythologies of my own. Great so far but, there has always been an unfortunate catch. I always seem to come up with brand new ideas before I can even begin to get my current/old ideas on paper.
So I got to thinking one day, what if I created a whole new story (and all that jazz) and used it as a crossover story for all my main heroes from all the stories I never got onto paper. Furthermore, I liked this idea so much that I created a timeline of events to show what happens in my characters individual stories, what occurred to bring them to the world of my game and even what they do when they eventually return home.
So this game takes place in the middle of the timeline of stories. Because I may or may not get a chance to actually get their other stories on paper or in game form, my game will have a memos scattered about to bring everyone up to speed on all that has transpired within the timeline, up to the point where my game begins. - STORY
A young mercenary awakens in a strange new world unaware of the trials that have befallen the people this new, once vibrant paradise.
Along his travels, the young man meets several strangers who appeared around the same time as he. Each of these strangers eventually joins him on his quest.
They learn that this world used to run wild with colorful landscapes, until a demon sorcerer named Falen took over the Aureole Sanctum and turned it into the Dread Bastion. The once vibrant world became dank and grungy, as if looking at the world through old antique sepia toned photographs.
As they attempt to find ways to approach the Dread Bastion and stop Falen, the band of travellers also learn that they each originate from a different world. Many worlds under the same Advent (what the word for God is in my game) and that his life is in danger.
Their Advent had summoned them through unfortunate means in hopes that they could save their worlds and his throne from Falen’s clutches. As it was told to them, the Advent walks among us, ruling while hiding from societies watchful. Yet, if one were to somehow find and kill the Advent, the killer would absorb the Advent’s powers, title, and duties through the Rite of Transfer… an almost impossible feat that Falen just may have been granted to tools to accomplish!
On their quest, the travellers meet up with several heroes of legends past who share connections with their Advent and their worlds and become their mentors.
They also encounter members of Falen’s vast army, a group calling themselves the “Negatives”
Will their combined strengths be enough to save the Holy Advent and this strange new world? And where did these budding heroes come from? Why were they the ones chosen to bear the call of arms?
Find out in "Negative Illusion Invasion" - GAMEPLAY FEATURES
-Playable Characters:
Over the course of the game, unlock and play as 54 different characters, each with their own backstory, abilities and purpose within the over branching story and world within the game.
-Elemental Alignments:
Every character within the game are aligned to one of 18 Elements. Each element has their own strengths and weaknesses. Legend also has it that some may even be able to learn to dual wield elements, adding to the depth and strategy of the game.
THE ELEMENTS ARE: Kindle, Shock, Rose, Wave, Wood, Ardor, Alchemy, Polar, Sand, Zephyr, Rhythm, Grave, Iron, Mirror, Glow, Shade, Heart and Myth
-Reflex Abilities:
Each character has a special Reflex Ability that are always active as long as the character wielding it is in your party. They can range from doubling the gold earned at the end of a fight that character participates in, a character being able to have perfect accuracy in darkness to, a character being unable to be put to sleep, a character's speed stat being effected by stat changing effects... the list goes on.
-Field Abilities:
Each character will be able to learn three field abilities that will be used for puzzle solving. These abilities will be akin to moves from games like Banjo-Kazooie on the N64 or abilities in the Lego series of games.
Using these abilities, characters can progress further and to areas that other cannot. You can only use field abilities of the three people you currently have in your party.
You'll have to switch out party members if you plan to access certain areas.
It is good to keep in mind that, just because a character shares the same element as another, they do not automatically have the same Field Abilities.
-Switching:
Because there are so many different characters to control, and so many areas that you need to switch out characters for their abilities, special switching/resting zones will be scattered about the world. If you need to switch a character out, you need to find one of these stations.
This means that one must be careful and sure when they select their party of three.
More features are in the works, but I'd rather make sure I can make them work before I share them - PROGRESSION
-This game will be in split into episodic chapters in a similar fashion to RPG's like Dragon Quest IX on the DS. Each chapter will have its own confined story, except for parts that directly affect the main characters. Those story parts will carry on between episodes. Every chapter will also somehow be connected to the overall end game goals. As such, all chapters will be included right from the beginning, you'll merely have to progress through them to get to the new ones.
-You'll travel between two parallels of the same world as you aim to solve the mysterious of the game's world and bring colour back to the people and their surroundings.
-As you progress you'll learn new and better abilities to aid you in reaching new areas. - CHARACTERS
Here are pictures and descriptions for 6 of the 54 characters that you'll be able to control in my game.
MILUN FORTIER
Before arriving in the new world, Milun was a Mercenary for a magical world known as Rainould. Despite deciding not to follow in his father's footsteps and take over as Captain of the Royal Guard, Milun can always be counted on to assist the King's Royal Knights in their never ending efforts to keep Rainould save from the harmful Broccannian Empire. He is courageous, kind, always helpful and never one to standby while others are suffering.
He is aligned with the Kindle Element. The Flaming Courage
LANA MEADOWS
Before arriving in the new world, Lana was a budding martial artist who trained in secret, eventually finding a way to mix her love of gardening with her fighting skills. She is a skilled fighter and even more skilled healer. She hails from the world of Florawing and is shy and caring, yet also bold.
She is aligned with the Rose Element. The Healing Flower.
MIKEL AQUINOS
Before arriving in the new world, Mikel sailed the seven seas of the tropical world known as Oceande, in search of a lost civilization. On his travels he gave a new name to the world Pirate, becoming the 'Robin Hood' of the seas. He is a workaholic (or at least was), he is rough, strategic and bold that he often contradicts with his cheery demeanor.
He is aligned with the Wave Element. The Gentle Tsunami.
EILWYN GRIFFEN
Before arriving in the new world, Eilwyn was a shy, quiet loner who lacked self-respect and had no self-esteem. His only friend was always his twin brother who was his opposite. When his twin vanished to the past one day, he mustered up the courage the go after him. His travels became a lone journey through time where he learned to fight and fend for himself all the while helping people from other worlds and eras with their problems. Most importantly however, he learned to love himself. It is a shame that all that backfired the night of the accident. He originates from the world of Falco Fantum from the present era.
He is aligned with the Sand Element. The Lone Hourglass.
GUINEVERE STEELE
Before arriving in the new world, Guinevere hailed as the Queen Lady of the world of Falco Fantum from the Medieval Era. She doesn't advocate violence in any manner, but will not hesitate war in the most desperate of times. She is a master swordswoman and during battle can often be seen at the front lines. She is brash and beautiful, sweet but serious, gentle but also rough. She has had to fight on many occasions to protect her home from those who would thwart it. Luckily, thanks to Eilwyn and his twin brother, she was also able to win the one war she was otherwise guaranteed to lose.
She is aligned with the Iron Element. The Steele Tigress.
NURU KHALILI
Before arriving in the new world, Nuru was a wondering Gypsy/Archaeologist that wondered her desert world of Raahjragah (Raw jraw gaa) in search of hidden artifacts that were said to be the key to stopping a prophesied plague that threatened to wipe out her village. Unfortunately the plague arrived before she could locate the artifacts, taking the shape of a demon. Her and her trusted allies had no choice but to continue their quest for the artifacts, with the hope that their magic could still assist them. All the while she had her all seeing abilities were a constantly displaying images of the destruction that was be befalling her village. She is ever vigilante, warm and understanding. She also knows when to fall back and if all else fails, she known when to accept losses she is not prepared to lose.
She is aligned with the Mirror Element. The Reflection of Adventure. - SCREENSHOTS
Unfortunately, due to having not gotten terribly far with the actually building of the game in RPG Maker and deciding to redo all the tilesets and such from scratch after switching to RPG Maker MV, I only have screen shots of one sample area that was used to test some auto tiles I made, and the title screen. The reason I'm redoing it is because every time I tried to resize any of the tiles from VXAce's size to MV's size, they always looked too bad to use, even after all the different suggestions on these forums.

TEST MAP
(Here, I made the grass and the water, but decided to use the default trees as I suck at doing any of the objects) - CREDITS
Whoops, in my excitement to get the topic done, that I forgot to add the credits at end. Shame on me ><
Anyway...
-Character sprites were done using LooseLeaf Mack Sprite Generator and converted for RPG Maker VX Ace using Woratana's XP Sprite -> VX Sprite Converter then placed into the RPG Maker MV project with no further alterations.
-Character Busts were drawn by forum member, Aqua, whom I've ever indebted to. They have already drawn all 54 controllable characters for me. ^^
-Title Screen and Logo were done by Me (Eilwyn)
-Tilesets were done by Me (Eilwyn)
-Menus will be done using the Luna Engine as soon I can figure out how to use it with RPG Maker MV.
-Other, I'm planning on using several of Yanfly's scripts as many of them do a lot of what I require for my game.
Hopefully I didn't forget anything.
