Negative items

Hello there. Here I am with yet another issue. While playtesting my project, my girlfriend came across a very odd bug. One of her weapons is multiplied by -72. She has exactly -72 Walther PPK. I have no idea what causes this, but it's problematic since I'm using a item weight script and it messes with that. Any ideas? Thanks!

But the issue is not with the weight in itself. Well it sorta is because when the player removes the negative objects the weight increases. For example if I had -10 swords and I removed those, I would have the weight of 10 swords in my inventory.

either you have a wrong change in the default script, or at some place you used a direct script call to change an equipment number.


Please check all your events prior to that. If every change in equipment is done with the event command, then a script changed the default there because that command should check and prevent negative item counts.


But my first guess would be that somewhere you used a script call to change the item count, because that can result in such numbers.

At which point do you get a negative amount of weapons? Just after adding them or when you run another script call? Do you have any other scripts [remotely] related to items?

I don't know if it's due to a script or not. Although if nobody has had that issue before, it might be. Who knows.

As for what it is, I think I explained it but let me rephrase it. Basically, there's an item where the player has -72 in his or her inventory. As in negative 72, and I don't think you're supposed to be able to go under 0 in items you own.

I barely use script calls, and when I do they're not for the inventory, so no it's not due to that.

I'll do my best. You have to understand that I didn't encounter the bug myself, my girlfriend was playtesting it and I was only half watching what she did, and she doesn't know how to recreate the glitch.

What I do know, however, is that she tried to "optimize" her inventory. Oddly enough, it wouldn't let her equip any weapon, even though she had different versions. She could equip them manually, however. But yeah, she noticed the -72 weapons *after* trying without success to optimize. I don't know if it's related or not; she tried later and she found out she had -XX of the item (not equip) "Empty bottle". The item in itself does nothing, but is acquired via a common even call in another item;

When you use the item "Water Bottle", you get some MP (and lose thirst points via a script), and then it calls a common event to add +1 empty bottle.

If the two issues are related, I can think that maybe Yanfly Engine Ace - Ace Equip Engine v1.06 or Yanfly Engine Ace - Command Equip v1.01 could be the cause.

Otherwise, if they're two separate issues entierely, I can't think of anything, Perhaps the inventory limit script I posted earlier could be responsible.
