New and overwhelmed

Hey everyone, I'm new to RPG Maker VX Ace (19 days left in trial) and these forums. I love the software, it's so simple yet there are so many complex possibilities. I've been working on a game while on trial and I am a bit overwhelmed. Not only with learning ins and outs of software but also just focusing on a game. But my "trial" game is just that, kind of a display of what I learned and am capable of in 30 days (don't expect too much, ha).


Already have two ideas for more focused games and I really want to do (some) of my own sprites and maybe even music. Instead of the epic RPQ quest (not quite ready to tackle that) I'm more interested in the story driven, interactive story games. Well, enough rambling...hi.

Yesterday was a rough day. Just disoriented (my kids were in crazy mode) and things weren't just making sense. Ha, took a day off. But right now it's kind of just a point and click, fetch quests, vague story yet upbeat throughout. So far I'm only using resources that come with the trial. Used one script which was to change controls to typical WSAD format. Just loving how motivated I feel. I rushed into this project without any prep. Next time I plan on going through the database first and really building from the ground up. Great community, too! Anything you need, you can find within this great community. Everyone is so helpful. Thanks for the welcomes!
