new guy with game ideas

  Hey guys! i picked up RPG maker ACE on this years steam summer sale.  I know that its gonna be hard, especially for someone with very (VERY) little programming background.

  I am an animator in Ontario Canada, and i am pretty good at drawing, and have a creative mind, but dayum do i have trouble trying to do any scripting.  I was hoping that i could come here for youse guys to give me a hand.  

  Anyways, i will post my specific issue in another section of the forums, but i figured i would say hi and introduce myself to all you cool dudes and dudettes!

  I hope i will get to chat with some of you, and see your cool games sometime.

Welcome to the forum.  You will be relieved to learn that it is not necessary to know scripting.  There are many, many excellent scripts freely available which cover just about anything you can think of.

As you are so new to the engine, could I suggest that you look at this thread which Andar has put together.  It covers all the things that those new to the engine need to know, and spending a bit of time on it now will save you a ton of time and frustration in the future.

Another great place to start is with this tutorial game which takes you through the Event Commands.

Hey guys! thanks for the warm reception, and for those tutorial links, ill be sure to pour over them, (and check out someof the games that youse guy's have made).  I have a deviant art, and a tumblr,( http://thraggdrasil.deviantart.com/gallery/ ) you guys can look at if you're bored/curious.  Like most people, i haven't updated my stuffs for a while, but i have a couple neat animations i made with my DSi from a few years ago.  I'll try to post some more stuff sometime to have some of my current stuff available for show-and-tell.  Thanks again guys!!
