Hello everyone,
A couple of days ago I've first started using RPG Maker MV and I'm experimenting a bit with it. I have no prior experience with other programs like Photoshop, any form of programming or the like, but I used to play a lot of Warcraft 3 - or to be more specific, I used it to mod a lot. Always had a lot of fun with it, but after the WC3 hype kind of died, I really didn't know what to do.
RPG Maker does seem to fill that hole a little bit, so I'm experimenting with it to see if I really like it. So far, it helped me start tinkering around with Photoshop, GIMP and even Paint. I never been much of the artist type, which kind of reminded me of my ex-girlfriend, who was great with such things.
I do like writing though and I write a lot in my free time. A long time ago I wanted to make a game and I've thought of an entire setting for it, but never really had any platform to work with (although WC3 did make me want to implant it). Eventually I dropped the idea of making it a game and completely reworked it as a (literature) story, which I of course never completely finished. Aspects of the story (or game) do pop up sometimes, as I worked parts of it in a D&D campaign that I played with some friends, its magic system tends to interest people to be very creative and working out its political system made me personally more interested in real life local politics. Even my forum nickname is based on a character of that story. So maybe I'll be changing the story back into a game, but that's quite of an ambitious project for an inexperienced RPG Maker user.
Anyway, the past few days I've been reading a little on the forum and started my first RPG Maker game (Legend of Illarion). I thought it was time to join the community. So if everything goes well, you'll be seeing more of me.
