New Magic System (equipable magic)

    Kinda "hard" to explain so i made some screenshots and a mockup.

    My idea was a system that is like the ability system from "Final Fantasy Record Keeper". Here is the System of FFRK:

    Here we have the typical White Mage. She can use White Magic up to a "rarity" of four. When i go to "set abilitys" only White Magic up to four is showing up.

    How could this system be made for MV? I thought of something like this:

    In the Class menu we set a class to specific art. In this example: White Mage to White Magic up to Lv 5. (which is the highest).

    Second:

    We say in the spells menu that Cure has Lv 1.

    Third:
    Either in the normal "Equip"-Scene or in a seperate ability menu. Something like this (for normal equip):

    There you can "equip" the spells and then the character can use them immediately until you unequip them.

    Could this be done? :)

    Would like something like this too, doesn't even need to be this complex for my purposes...just the ability to equip spells up to whatever maximum you set for that player.

    I was literally looking for the same exact thing! And also because of Record Keeper! lol. I love the simplicity of it, and I love that it adds a little bit of a challenge going into dungeons only being able to bring some of your abilities. Of course, in a full RPG, I'd probably allow at least 8 skills per character or something.

    @Jeffafa

    i kinda wanted to limit it to three for a little "challenge" but i think it should be easy once the core plugin is done to expand the slots. :)

    Yanfly will be releasing a plugin designed for this purpose (at least I think this is what you are looking for) sometime this week according to his website. Just sit back and wait a few days. :)

    NOW that the actual Plugin is released i have to say: this sadly isn't what i was looking for. :) But don't get me wrong, it's an AMAZING plugin! Good job, Yan.

    Maybe another small example clears up what i really meant:
    We take the White Mage in the example above. She has "White Magic Lv. 5". Now i "create" "Cura", a Lv 3. White Magic spell. Suddenly we get a new Member:
    The RED MAGE! The Red Mage has both Black AND White Magic at Lv 3. Now the player decides "okay, i want healing AND deal damage." He switches the White Mage for the Red Mage.

    Here comes the twist:
    With Yan's Plugin i would have to let the Red Mage learn Cura AGAIN. I want that you can strip the Cura Spell OFF the White Mage and EQUIP it on the Red Mage.

    Without learnig it trough points or money.

    I hope this clears it up a little bit. :)

    Thx! :) In combination with Yanflys Equip-Core this should work. A little bit more tedious than i hoped but i think that's okay.

    I mark it as solved then. Thx!

    Now the only "problem" is to get a Red Mage to work^^ Oh well... Maybe i have to do this slightly different.

    This sounds like a great idea. Have it set up that you load skill cards into skill slots. Have like ten different skills for, say, four slots. 40 possible skills. I'm not sure how to make it work with the plug-ins already available.

    Hey Riddler,

    i'm not sure if i can help but here is the way i did it:



    I combined Yanfly's Equipment Core for more and Custom Slots and Pharonix Equipment Restriction to e.g set "Feura (Lv.3) to Actor 6 (Red Mage) AND 7 (Black Mage) while "Feuga (Lv. 5)"  only to 7.

    The only downside is that you cannot add a "Reg Mage" category because you have to make a copy of each skill... That's why i decided to let the Red Mage have two Black and two White Magic slots. :)
