Hello to everyone!
I've been a lurker of this forum for a while now, and finally decided to join in on the fun since everyone here seems to be very helpful and friendly. So I thank you in advance for any help, and hope I can also be a useful member of this wonderful community.
I'll probably put spoilers since I can rant a bit.
A little bit about myself:
Hopes and dreams regarding RPG Maker and game making in general maybe?
I want to congratulate anyone who has or is in the process of making or completing an RPG game, it is a HUGE undertaking and you're all awesome for doing it! Also another congrats to everyone out there that provide resources and guidance with your magical hands and minds to better the community and helping people out!
I hope this isn't too long, but I'm glad to finally be a part of it all! Thank you!

I was gifted a copy of RPG Maker VX Ace way back when it was new, and had tinkered around with it a bit. I love creating things, especially projects. I'm a writer in my free time, but I've always wanted to make a game and never had the time to try and make one from scratch. I found RPG Maker to be the perfect format for me to try and express that creativity. Not much came of it since I had to focus more on my studies and so that whole project fell by the wayside.
By the time I got back into it again, I found that a shinier, new version of the software had come out, and so I recently bought it on sale. I have already started a basic online of the story and some planning into what kind of things I want in the game, but will work on the bulk of the game making when I have a little more fleshed out. It is going to be a tribute to an old MMORPG game I played (actually the very first one I played that introduced me to the world of online gaming) which is no longer in existence sadly D:, so I hope for it to be enjoyable to others!

I suck at art to start with, but after my first game, I hope to be able to make the games more unique to my style over the more typical RPG style that comes with the engine. By this I mean, I don't want to stick to the default for anything really from the title screen and GUI, to even the characters and objects. I know how to code and javascript is something I'm familiar with, so I won't have too many issues from that angle...but like I said, I suck at art, but I'd like to be able to use my own artwork for games to keep things consistent and to add a touch of individuality to them.
So I hope to, over the course this journey, get good enough to where I won't be embarrassed to use my own work or at least get people to enjoy my games without wanting to run in fear from the eyesore that may be the artwork associated with them. I also want to convert some of my text based games into full fledged RPGs! (for anyone familiar with the ChoiceScript games - I have a few projects there, but again, none completed...)
