Don't get me wrong, i really like your stuff so far. But how will you make your game unique from Pokémon? What will be it's unique selling proposition, as fancy people call it?

Don't get me wrong, i really like your stuff so far. But how will you make your game unique from Pokémon? What will be it's unique selling proposition, as fancy people call it?
This is quite a common question that i get in my email actually. So ill cleared it up here.

First let summarize Pokemon good stuff (This is only my opinion, no offense):

- Variety of Pokemon to be catch.

- A lot of side-stuff that can be done after finishing the main story.

- Gym Leader and Pokemon Champion League concept.

- Pokemon Evolution!

- Legendary Pokemon!!

- Cute starter (Though after Generation IV i don't really like the design)

- Surf! Fly! Teleport! Dive! etc..... I like this feature.

Okay now onto Pokemon bad stuff (ONLY MY OPINION! No offense and no haters please):

- The main story is too generic, Good boy and girl defeat the evil. (except for Pokemon Black and White, the story quite good actually)

- The story is not serious and deep enough for me.......

- The Pokemon design, honestly for me, it getting more boring....

- The character in it doesn't really much involving. Example, the gym leader, they just sit on their gym.....well except on a certain events.

- WHERE IS THE FOOD CAME FROM

- RANDOM CALL

- Has to catch all the pokemon? LOLZ it nearly impossible to get all the Pokemon.

- The region is too small......Im an adventurous person ya' know.

Now then, what so good about IMAGINE then? Lets go to this,

IMAGINE's feature (Imagi is what we called as pokemon in IMAGINE):

General Feature:

Huge list of Imagi to be catch.

Vast world of IMAGE (uhhhh world in IMAGINE is called IMAGE)

Deep and Humorous Storyline

Unique character Development

Gameplay:

Unique Evolve System, Skill system, Equipment system

Strategize battle

Hard-headed Bosses

Unique Collecting system

Deep Side-Story

A lot of additional dungeon to be conquered

Territorial System

Master Collector Arena

Imagi Fusion System

[SIZE=12pt]Synchronization Attack[/SIZE]

The storyline for most pokemon games is overlooked. You have to look hard to see the underlining tones x) so I understand that statement if you haven't really looked into the story. As for the next statement (and I am no hater to what you said I am just giving you insight) Pokemon was made to connect people through gaming across the world. The main part was hooking up with a friend and battling and trading pokemon, then online came and it was even easier to trade with people all over the world and that's what the developers of Pokemon intended. They expected you not to huddle in your room but to make friends who have ruby and you have sapphire so you can trade your pikachu for a Kyogre x). It isn't impossible to catch all the pokemon it just takes capturing all the pokemon in your game and then trading with others over seas and the like. ^~^ a bad trait? Nope! A well intended and great trait. ^~^ I love trading with people online my baby Zorua is such a wittle cutie :3 x) hehe

Haha you're right, maybe i just didnt read the story throughly. And to catch all the pokemon part, i actually didn't say it is impossible ._." It is nearly impossible (for old console) as for the new version can already trade via network. Though the old one, like GBA, we has to use cable to trade with people. Actually that is a little bit problem for a few people. And i has some experience with it (my Alakazam.......). T_T

xDD Hehe I know that you said near impossible but still the migration and determination is what makes it fun. Why do something if it is going to be easy? I usually do things for a challenge.

Haha yep you're right! Who want to play easy game after all? xD Just like a certain game that can be game over with only simple mistake, like falling from a high place because we didn't see where we're going because the place is cramped........... (I didn't said anything about Dark Souls)

Hey how's goin on? I'm not dead yet. Phew after a couple days banging my head onto wall, the evolution system and it's scene is finished(okay not really, it's 80%, just need to give help text and cleaning some rough code). Now mid evo, double evo, dual evo, unique evo, all is done(just beware for whoever you are databaser). Your unique terms like apocalypse, ocean and whatever else(you can add) is also done. Giving rank to each imagi is also available. Last is you can give animation when an evolution is happened(it's animation from Database animation), mid, double, dual, unique, all can have their own type of animation. Oh and unique will only available if a certain game switch is on. The availability of evolution for each imagi can be different, example : Evolution level is not fixed, so different imagi can evolve at different level(you know what I mean right?). You also can make imagi don't have an evolution, maybe you can make greenhorn evolve into prime rank (double or dual), I haven't tried it but I think it possible if you set it right. An Item need to be eat before imagi can evolve into unique evolution(collossal rank?) is also functioned.

Hopefully I can finish this before christmas, I know only need to polish some code and give help text, but I've been really busy with real life.

EDIT : oh yeah I write the update here because I can't open the PM(dunno why)

Haha of course you're not dead yet! xDDD Right now im creating the Half-Body for Hero and Heroine for the dialogue. I also want to start coloring the 3 starter to start off, Raiha (Fire type), Laira (Water type), and Tik (Wind type).

And again, you really pull yourself hard! I really appericiate it! The game system may not even has been this far without you! So right now we can say the IGS is already 50% eh? xDDDD Also i've been learning animation, and it is really interesting subject. Maybe ill also try to do a custom animation for each rank evolution. That will make it much more better right~ I can't wait to test the evolution system especially setting up the Imagi xDD 

You can take a rest and manage your busy life for awhile, i already decided that i'll be releasing the demo in early month of next year so the team will be comfortable and not rushing up. I just afraid the quality of the game may decreased if we're rushing it.

Maybe it better to talk it here, the people also can know how the game has been progress.

Hey how are you? =)

I just got back from my vacation and started to work on this game again.

I just finished create a new optional custom system about dynamic parameter for each cloned imagi and it reads the difference by variance. Also this utilize notetags for the settings for each class.

I made this because I think if a player capture a same kind of imagi and realize he/she will get an exact same imagi(its parameters), this would be boring. So I made this, so if example a player capture 2 green dragon, it will has different parameters. How much and what parameters? All set via notetags for the class of corresponding imagi, 8 basic parameters MHP, MMP, ATK, DEF, MAT, MDF, AGI, and LUK. The variance works like the variance in formula attack box, so it can give plus or minus at certain parameter. "Wow that's nice, but what if I don't want all imagi has this system, how can I do that?" Easy just don't give notetags, and the system will read the default parameters for every new imagi.

I will add it on the next demo project along with several bug fixes.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
