Designing characters and their battle abilities is always fun!

But anything visual -- artwork, sprites, animations, etc -- slaps me with the cruel reality that is my lack of artistic talent....

I like doing all the database stuff, especially when making the battles being balanced and fun (or even challenging), but I have zero plugin experience, so I can't modify plugins even a little bit to better fit my game.

@BURNING_JUSTICE_Games Maybe you should try to make a text based RPG. Lots of battles and almost zero graphics. :)

Looking forward to: Everything involving visuals and mapping especially. Nothing feels better than making a game come alive.

Dreading For: Bug Fixing + Modifying scripts for compatibility and/or add additional functions. Lack of programming knowledge hurts here.

I look forward to everything to do with combat, story, and mapping.

I absolutely LOATHE creating animations. Seriously... I'd rather not have animations if I could.

I love working on the mechanics, concept art, minor writing, mapping (despite finding mapping the most exhausting).
Dread the sprite work, balancing, and story.

Sprinting and mapping is fun
Until you have to do it over 100 times for a project. XD

Sprinting
Do you literally sprint for every new project?

--------
Excited:
  • Testing a new design in mind, implementing it, see how it works in the small test sandbox.
  • Drawings the character.
  • Picking up the music theme.
  • Creating a cut scene.
Dread:
  • Realized that my design suck after testing it then abandoned it all together (happens many times).
  • Coming up with a story as an excuse for why the game happens.
  • Mapping.

I look forward to programming. Quite simply.
It is when I program that I am most satisfied with doing what I do, with bringing my systems to life, and that these systems work, it is like a game in itself.

Dread: ANIMATIONS, ANIMATIONS, ANIMATIONS

I've been with rpg maker since 2k3 and jesus everytime I get to the animations I give up, because I ALWAYS find some great free custom animations but then the amount of time it takes to set them up the way I want them to look is literally about 40 minutes to an hour per skill. Not to mention now I want a custom sfx to go with the custom animation and boom failed project city. This time around I've steeled myself, I'm using the animations MV came with and using them in conjunction with action sequences which I dont need too many of, dayum what others say.

Look forward to: eventing scenes, I love seeing my vision come to life and enjoy finding ways to make it unique.

Welp... with numerous plugins and a bit of Javascript help, I've simulated an AP system in battle. Proud of myself honestly.
Why most of games like to give a horrible control to an aircraft vehicle? can I get a simplified control that does not require me to roll first just to change my direction?
