Hello all, very new to RPG maker and sprites, this is actually my first post. I made some sprites in a program I bought from steam (Game Character Hub) and I used a XP RTP format so the grid is 4x4. it doesn't import into VX ACE properly, what should I do?

  • PS says image is 96dpi and 132pxW x 192pxH so that makes each frame 33pxW x 48pxH layed out in a 4x4 grid.
  • I used the setting Character hub RPG maker XP (I think these taller characters look better, that's why I chose it but now I am thinking maybe VX ACE doesn't support it
  • I attached a file in case that helps

Please let me know if I am not asking the right question or am not providing enough info

RMMV
The first thing you could do would be to go to the manual - F1 in the editor. It explains that VX Ace sprites are in a 3-column x 4-row format, not the 4x4 of XP. It also explains that if you have a single character instead of a set of 8, you need to put $ at the start of the name.

So crop the image to only include the last 3 columns (get rid of the first one), and put a $ at the start of the name.

BTW, GCH isn't very clear on this but you can only use the RTP's of the engines you own.  So to use the XP sprites you must also own XP.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
