Forgive me if this is very basic, but I've been having difficulties accomplishing this task, which is the bases of my project.

Basically, I have a 10 full frame animation of an enemy attack I want to play after the enemy performs a particular skill. What's the best way to do this? Should I "Show Picture" frame by frame? or use "Show Movie"?

Also, can I get damage info above the animation? Thanks!

Do you mean a skill animation or a sprite animation?

As for the animation, if it is a skill animation, you simply assign it in the skills tab in database.

Sorry if I'm not making myself clear. Hopefully these screenshots help. It's a front view battle and when the enemy attacks, a movie of him pulling the move appears with damage data appearing at certain times of the footage. How would you accomplish this?

The damage pop-up is Yanfly's plug-in that I shared, perhaps with some modification. And that movie sequence is either a gigantic battle animation (which you can build in Database-animations and assign to a skill via Skills tab) or a fairly advanced javascript.

I see.

So I've tried building it in my animation database, but the images are so big (1000x500px), they show as broken pieces as if it can't treat one giant image as a frame. Am I doing something wrong?

Perhaps it really can't, which would mean it's an animation played by javascript.

These two videos are about two different plugins made by two different people :D So no.
Btw. Yanfly engine plugins and Victor engine plugins have huge compatibility issues when put together, so I wouldn't try to mix them together too much.

Got it. I’ll make a note of that.

Poryg, thx a lot. Appreciate your patience and help. Hopefully I can make this work given the limitation and your help.

I haven't really done anything :D if you're a newbie as you say though, maybe it will be better to get to know the engine a bit better before trying anything crazy. Because in all honesty, that animation doesn't look like anything simple.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
