Newbie Needing Help With Items

Hi,

This is probably a really silly question however I am very new to all of this. I bought RPG Maker MV about a week ago and have become addicted! I have been using my own maps made in photoshop and have followed a range of tutorials. My main issue is I'm having trouble with adding items to my character inventory.

Basically I want to make a monkey island style game (eg where adding X item to Y item gives you a unique item to use).... Can anyone point me in the right direction with this either if you can help or if you know of any tutorial videos etc?

Did you look into either of the plugins I mentioned above?
...I'm sure yanfly's would do the trick most likely.

This is proving to be quite a tricky process without the use of them.

Yes I just downloaded the first one so will take a look at some of the tutorials for it.

Its things like getting the main character to 'give' an item to a NPC that sort of thing too - will this plugin work for that too do you think?

I love the adventure type of games like monkey island, a flight of the amazon queen and Titanic adventure out of time. They are all more of a point and click game so Im hoping I can do the same with the game I have planned out....

Hmm.. not sure but you could follow this tutorial for that...

I guess it's frowned upon cuz it increases post count without adding a real extra post and kind of makes the threads longer... not entirely sure but seen many ppl warned about it.

What sort of games do you create?

Mostly just a plugin dev. these days really and help others.
But I like standard RPGS and platformers best.
Have a few constant WIP games like a monster capture game and mario-esk clone... but I fear they may never see the light of day lmao
