I'm new around here so please direct me to anything I should know. I'm sure that these questions have probably been answered... so please do direct me to those as well.

My problem lies within the event editor. I'm still fuzzy with switches, varibles, and conditions so it may be hard for me to follow what you are going to type. If you have anything easy to learn forum pages that can easily teach a newbie if he/she tries hard enough, I'm up for it.

Problem #1: How do I get a different text message to appear after the first?

I'd like to know how to get an event to display a different text message after the first. Lets say I'd like someone says "Hi". After that's closed, I'd like that person to say "Hello" next. Maybe lock it to that second phrase too.

Problem #2: How do I get an event to play after a certain amount of interaction?

Like the problem states, I'd like an event to trigger after interacting with an event for a certain amount of times. For example, checking a TV that only has the static channel. After talking to it about 20 times, it'll fix itself and change to another channel with different things to interact with it.

Problem #3: How do I get more conditions?

If it involes a script, I might just lose this. I see that the event editor allows for only 1 condition to activate in the left box of the event editor. If I try the conditional brach from the right-click, insert, it says that it's just one. In my case, I'd like to have 2 specific actors to activate the event.

Problem #4: How do I seperate conditions?

This follows my previous question, but it has a slight twist. How do I seperate which condition will trigger one or another. As said in my previous question, I want an event to trigger when 2 actors are in the party. I had changed my thing to having an item to use as a substitue from gaining both actors, but then another problem occured. I want seprate events to happen if you have different actors in your party. So if you have a specific actor, dialogue will change. In my problem, when I had it set to an item, it would automatically go past that trigger and go onto my second trigger. It's like it didn't even acknowledge my item and went straight for the actor.

To sum this up, I'm pretty much just a newbie with many questions. Sorry if you cannot understand what I was typing and that you should have to deal with me, but I really do need some more assistance in getting to fully know the program. I hope you guys can help me out with my problems. Perhaps I may do the same some day...

First off, Variables and Switches are the most important part of the engine and you'll need them to do anything more complex than a quest of "got there".

I suggest you check the tutorials to learn how to use them, the best ones are linked in the starting point you'll find when you follow the link in my signature.

1) Multiple event pages (one for the first message, one for later messages) controlled by self-switch

2) Increase a variable +1 for each interaction, check value by conditional branch or condition and trigger after the variable has reached the required number

3) you don't - and you do not need more. Check one actor with the conditions, the other with a conditional branch on that page

4) conditional branches - make different conditional branches on the same event page, correctly set up different branches will trigger on different conditions

I seriously recommend the RPG Maker VX School game. It taught me what I know from absolutely nothing. I was confused by all of the terms and options in the menus but after spending some time in the mentioned game, it was extremely easy to understand.

Some other tutorials I think you might enjoy/benefit from is listed below, but after reading many tuts when I began it was really the school game that taught me.

Although I think Aindra's game is excellent, it is for VX, not VX Ace, and a number of things are different between those two engines.

Instead I would recommend the one by Dreadshadow which you can get here.  It also is a game that you play through, it's unencrypted so you can see how things are done.

Yes, but the basics are still the same. Like what a conditional branch is and how to use it properly, or what a variable is etc etc. And I did make an edit with other tutorials, one of which was Dreadshadow's game. :)

Nothing to do here.

Nothing to add too, except that I will just put some more weight on selecting reading @Andar's tutorials.

Honestly @Andar will show how how to do a LOT of stuff.

And he will also GUIDE you in deeper researches of yours in the future.

bacause just for the record, @Andar's knowledge on VX Ace is far higher than mine.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
