Normally you'd just make the event tint the screen when it becomes night, wait a few seconds, then change the tint back to normal.

Create an INN quick event, and see how it does it. You should be able to do something fairly similar, minus the dialogue and gold stuff.

If you want the window to change from dark to light then you have to change the graphic. Two ways:

Use event to place a dark window graphic. You can select one from your tile sheet. Have a switch to activate the second page with a graphic of a light window

You can use Tsukihime's tile swapping script. Can't give link as this is from my phone.

How are you doing that - an event that makes the window dark, or the tile swapping script? Show us the event - the whole event window.

I thought so. You're using a picture, which shows ABOVE everything else. Why not just add the darkened window to your tileset, then add events using those tiles as the graphic?

There IS an event timer, but you wouldn't want to use it, as it displays a counter in the corner of the screen.

Instead, use a switch to condition whether it's displayed or not. When you want it to appear, turn the switch on. When you want it to disappear, turn the switch off. You can change the switches in your existing EV003 event.

If this is not good enough and you actually want it to fade in/out, let me know. I wrote a little script that will do that (without changing the opacity half a dozen times in a move route).
