Maybe we could be friends?
@mogwai and
@HexMozart88 I stalked you both a bit (well, really I'm just on this forum more than facebook these days

) but I got the impression that you're both great. At minimum- I've seen you give up your free time to help strangers with their hobbies, which might be a common occurrence here, but it's still pretty darn amazing.
Mental health issues aren't uncommon, and even though you might find that a depressing statement, it also means that there's loads of people out there who understand what you're going through.
Truth is, we don't really know that much about how the brain or even the meds they give actually work. All anyone really knows is that certain ones help certain people. The same drug that helps one person with their condition might make another with the same problem really ill. It's kind of like a lottery, you just have to keep going through them, try it for however long they're asking for and if it's still not working, tell someone. I'm not gonna lie or try to sugar coat it, you probably already know how frustrating it is when the drugs don't work and the doctors don't listen, that's why I
love talking to other people with the same problems as me.
They've tried other treatments, created their own ways to cope with disappointments, and some times, it's just nice to speak to someone you know won't judge you.
I don't have many friends either, and the ones I do have live far away. Making new friends is always scary. It takes a certain level of investment and effort to get to know someone, and a nervous wreck like me rarely gets past 'hi'

But talking online is so much easier. Until now I've been a bit sceptical of online friends, but I did actually meet up with someone I met online, and hey, we get on great and now he's helping me make a game! So, there is a potential there if you feel like seeking it out.
On this forum, we all have a common interest in making games which is a great start. There's a reason people make friends from classes/work where there's a shared interest. All you have to do is find another one or more, and there's the start of a relationship
