NO SUPPORT/ NO MAKER/ NO NOTHING

Ok, so this is the situation im in,

Years ago I baught rpg maker mv along with sakan tileset builder. I got my codes and activated them, thankfully I had saved backups just in case because the next day they where gone from my purchased page (I still have the activation code for mv jotted down btw but sakans is definitly lost to the ether)

Following this problem I contacted support, and contacted, and contacted... Basically ive been trying to contact them ever since but never even receved an automated message in response, I have tried their emails, their support pages, and so on (never thought to try the forums tho so I guess that ones my bad, though in my defence there is absolutely zero indication that you should go to the forums for help on there website.)

ACTUAL BUG REPORT:

So why am I here today you might ask?

Well, today I had opened up my maker as usual, I do this every single day, and I opened up sakaan tileset builder like normal, except today was different... I opened up sakan to a blank sakan starting palate (not connected to any particular project- this parts normal) and click file//open project to start on that days tileset building for the current project I had been working on. And then I waited... And waited... You get the point.

RECAP:

Long story short:
Opened up sakan, nothing happened, no way to contact support, no way to simply delete and re instal the program because not only are they gone from my purchased page but I had also lost my activation key for sakan. What do I do?

ps. the reason I wrote in all caps originally is because I'm autistic and all caps is simply easier for me to read, if you need to change it go ahead it makes no difference to me after it has been written and proof read.

EDIT: I received an email back! I'm so happy, product key and downloads situation has been resolved within seconds XD better late then never I always say as for the Sakan error/glitch/bug? (still unsure of the actual issue) I have a response from that too, I have already sent the screenshots back and am waiting for the technical review, no message back yet from the screenshots email but I'm guessing it'd probably take a lot longer than a few minutes to resolve an unknown bug so ill keep you all posted ok X3

BUG STEPS WITH PICS:

here are the screenshots of my program process as requested, I had already sent this to the dev email on their request but will now post them here too, hopefully this will help.

description of steps in screenshot:
1: open rpg maker (newish map just for testing purposes)
2: open sakan tile set builder from rpg maker button on top right
3: sakan opens up to blank sakan canvas with no pre selected map/game- this is normal as in what I'm used to but was told this may be a bug within itself
4: go to file and open game project button directly under file tab- so far so good (this is all things I have been doing for years)
5: button does... nothing (no errors, no popup message, no loading wheel, absolutely nothing happens) what's supposed to happen at this point if you're not familiar with sakan is that this button is supposed to open up your computers file directory, at that point you'd go into your games folder and select the particular project whos tile sets you wanted to work on. that's the step that's seemingly missing here, the file directory does not pop up at all.

UPDATE 2:

EDIT (again): by the way, as a mini update to the forum the replacement key did eventually come in the mail, so I decided to backup, delete, than re install sakan tile set maker. unfortunately this has not fixed the bug (which I really hoped it would so looks like the new product key for sakan was useless after all, at least ill still have a backup if I loose sakan which makes it not a complete loss) as for now, I'm theorizing on two possibilities technically speaking either A) this could be a system compatibility issue with the new windows update and this error was just a delayed reaction (although I have my doubts since it didn't happen the day of the update but honestly stranger things have happened) or if it occurs to the devs that a possible and continuous file being missing from the program folders may be to blame then it is possible that a second third party program such as one of my antivirus programs is accidently mislabeling the particular program as a virus and deleting it without my consent on its own (but I have doubts on this one as well because that would mean the file would have to have been deleted almost immediately upon re install of the new program and even then would have taken some time to take effect which means I would have been able to press the button and open the file directory upon re launch and then it would stop working) I'm not ruling any of these out of course but I believe its important to put these theories out there so maybe it would give the devs an idea of where they could look if they get stuck. if anyone though has some other theories and possible trouble shooting ideas please let me know.

sorry I'm still new to the forums itself (never been a big fan of social media as anxiety tends to get the best of me in social situations sometimes), so I'm still learning how to use it properly. ill post screenshots in a bit. as for the other part, I honestly just don't care what people think of me XD I've had, used, and supported rpg maker since it came out so I wouldn't really loose any sleep over it.

EXPLANATION ON WHAT HELP I NEED:

besides, I'm actually not trying to get anything at all, like I said in my post, I already had the programs and emergency backups as well, both in (what used to be) perfect working condition. what I would like isn't the product itself but a fix to this mysterious bug that just appeared all of a sudden today, which hasn't yet been resolved unfortunately, I suspect it would probably take a few days to look over the code and see what went wrong exactly. I did mention to the devs that windows did have a recent update tho, however its unclear weather or not this has anything to do with the system malfunction or not.

I really hope I get this fixed soon, I really like rpg maker and sakan is my go to pixel art making program, sure I have lots others and it may not be the most intuitive tile set editor out there but if you know how to use it its one of the best ones, and ill swear by it too.

I'm just impressed that you're doing constructive things with Sakan!

I got it on sale on Steam, fiddled around a little, watched a video tutorial...and never got it to do much. However, the included tilesets are cool enough I feel it was worth it for them alone

sakan is not user friendly ill admit but once you know what you're doing my god is it one of the best tile set builder programs I've ever used {and I use a lot-// gale // pro-motion // grafX2 // tile-D // piskel // pyxeledit are all my other go-to's and yet sakan nearly trumps them all- except for tile-D as a tile set editor but you cant draw directly on it} I was thinking at some point maybe id make a sakan tutorial post for those who want to use it, (it would be great to finally get some sakan plugins on the market)

PS, YES sakan actually has a place to install plugins just like RPG maker dose! too bad its hard to find if you don't know where you're looking

EDIT: no body knows about this and it makes me so sad, sakan can be even better and yet no one sees its potential

A tutorial would be awesome! It's encouraging to learn that among all of those options you see it as the top tool, sounds like all it needs is some decent documentation

If you made a tutorial post that would rock! In the meantime I might revisit it and try again.

yeah thanks I think I will now, might take a little bit of time to though since there's actually a lot to learn, so much so that I have a notebook just dedicated to sakan and all its tips and tricks including some programing tips (its not much, but still useful things to know// i.e. I'm still a beginner programmer) but I have worked with sakan for years so I pretty much know it like the back of my hand (except for the current bug mentioned above which I'm sure by now isn't a direct fault of the program itself but some sort of compatibility issue either between it, my software - windows 10, or my antivirus- windows defender + MacAfee //one or the other) ill still keep yall posted on that one but so far I haven't received a message back on the bug report.
